Full-Featured Phone, half a PDA

Pros Small size, calendar, phone book, e-mail, web browser, IR port, Bluetooth, battery life
Cons Interface feels clunky and slow, no polyphonic ringtones.
Recommended it? Yes

I upgraded from the Nokia 8260 to the Sony Ericsson T68i last month. The Nokia finally died after two years of great service, and I decided I wanted a phone with more bells and whistles.

When I started shopping, I had decided that I wanted a phone about the same size as my old Nokia 8260,... Read full review »

Pros Loaded with features, easy to find accessories. Camera available.
Cons Poor RF performance, slow menus, tiny buttons, more.
Recommended it? No

I get a new cellular phone about once every year or so (I am thinking of getting counseling to deal with this problem) and I often jump on phones that are particularly feature rich.

You can't ask for much more feature richness than what the T68i delivers. When I first started reading of... Read full review »

Sony + Ericsson = A winning combination.

Pros Small Size, easy access to functions using the joystick, Bluetooth.
Cons Very little memory for image files.
Recommended it? Yes

My buying decision.
I had to have a new phone. My Nokia 8290 was falling apart and I was going on a 3-week trip to India. I needed a triband GSM worldphone and it had to be unlocked. Most cell carriers prefer to sell phones that are locked (programmed) to use only their service. The third... Read full review »

Pros Good reception
Cons SLOOOW, toggle stick is squirrelly, feels cheap, etc
Recommended it? No

The only way I can possibly see anyone liking this phone is if they were rocking the huge vintage Motorola block phones from the early 80's just before getting the T68i. This phone is lousy.

Let's start with the SLOWNESS. Who has time to sit and look at the hour glass ticking on the... Read full review »

Pros Size, color screen, battery life, WAP
Cons GSM coverage, tricky stick, software
Recommended it? Yes

I wanted a second phone and price was the main factor. I was looking at Tracphone deals but the minutes expire too fast. Regarding the price, it was $200 but I should get more in rebates (with activation) so it was free.

The plan is a $20 per month "Charter" GSM plan with 100 minutes... Read full review »

Great Phone, Even Better Accessories!

Pros Features, size, accessories
Cons Voice commands, interface speed
Recommended it? Yes

The T68i is an updated version of the T68. The main visual differences are the colors of the case and the logo (Sony Ericsson on the T68i vs Ericsson on the T68) on the phone itself. Main features are similar for both models. The highlights include Tri-band capability, GPRS, MMS (multimedia... Read full review »

I've had this phone for about two weeks now and there are still many features I'm still learning about. Where should I start?
Well for starters, it is small and light...86 grams (3.03 ounces) with battery and easily pocketable. I know that a lot of people like the clamshell or 'flip phone'... Read full review »

An Amazing Phone

Pros Small tri-band phone, long battery life, plethora of features, no Sprint Service!
Cons Interface a little quirky
Recommended it? Yes

This is the first phone I have purchased since I bought my Samsung SCH-2000 in July of 1999 with Sprint. When that phone died, I received from a family member a used Nokia 5100 series phone to replace it since I was still under contract. Needless to say, the T68i is a tremendous improvement - a... Cons Short battery life, does not come with many necessary accessories, poor resolution.

A good friend of mine bought this phone the day it came on the market and when he showed me the pictures of his kids on it, I knew I had to have one! I ran to my local AT&T dealer and gladly forked over my $149.99. I've had the phone for two months now and I have to say that I think I may have... Read full review »

T68i - A Fantastic Phone Undeserving of GSM Shortcomings

bybulldurham75 Jan 17, 2003

Pros Just about everything except GSM service: price, call quality, battery life, etc.
Cons GSM service quality lacking; key lock can overcomplicate your navigation
Recommended it? Yes

The company that I came to work for was an AT&T customer, so I opted to leave Sprint (and problems with my Samsung A400) behind in search of better service. It didn't take much research to decide on Sony Ericsson's T68i. The T68 was already a big hit with T-Mobile users and AT&T only rolled out... Read full review »
