Not that great
I have had my DVR-4000 for a few months and have not been that happy with the DVD functions of the unit. I am in the electronic repair business, so I thought I'd have a look inside. The Worst Customer Service Ever

Don't buy it
I bought this at Costco after reading good reviews of the product. I really liked that it was a dvd & vcr combo, which takes up less space and less cables. Beware Repair!
Despite the fact that the remote never made sense to me, my unit worked fine for a year and a half then suddenly the VCR played only in B&W. Contacted GoVideo via email and they said to use a head cleaner (didn't help).

Don't buy it !
I bought a DVR4000 to save on space and component hookups; it worked properly for 3 months then the tape unit stopped working. The warranty is parts/labor for 3 months, then parts only for the balance of one year. HOWEVER you are responsible for all shipping costs, etc. The service centers are few... Read full review »
A poor performer - avoid this model
This model is discontinued as of this writing, but I thought I should warn anyone off who is thinking about buying a used/refurbished one.
This was one of the earliest DVD/VCR combo units on the market. It's a nice looking player, if a bit chunky (it's 8.5 inches in height).

DVR4000 not worth it
I had this product 4 months and the VCR part broke. I worked great until the VCR part broke. It would play a VCR tape but the counter would not work, the picture was fine for like 5 seconds and the tracking would go off then it would be a good picture again than it would go back to a bad picture...
