Silence of the Lambs: Classic thriller is one of the best horror films ever made
In February of 1991, just a few days before U.S.-led coalition forces began the ground combat phase of Operation Desert Storm to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation, Orion Pictures released director Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs, a suspenseful and chilling adaptation of the... When Hannibal Met Clarice
It’s always the trannies, isn’t it? The Silence Of The Lambs hits home for me a bit more than for most people, but certain subject matter is, as the man says, “incidental”. It feels like a movie I grew up with, although I didn’t first watch it until 10... Read full review »
Gender, Fava Beans, and Lambs: 1991's The Silence of the Lambs
Based on the Thomas Harris novel of the same name, Silence of the Lambs, is the landmark psychological horror film of the 1990s with a fish-out-of-water new FBI agent, Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), obtaining help from a psychopath (Hannibal Lecter, played by Sir Anthony Hopkins) in order to... Silence of the Lambs: Motion Picture's "Mona Lisa"
Silence of the Lambs could be one considered one of the most sophisticated, refined, and perfectly composed motion pictures of all time. It is scary but not a horror, filled with crime but not a crime movie, and action-packed but not an action flick. Thriller is the perfect genre for it, and... Read full review »
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS: Hush, now, don't say a word.....
Silence of the Lambs is another one of those films that I have been meaning to see and review for a long while. Winning the Oscar for Best Picture (among four other Oscars it took home), I remember first hearing about the film when looking through Microsoft's Cinemania program back in the mid-90s... THE PERFECT MOVIE
There are few perfect movies made in this world. Some movies work well with one group and some with another. But for the most part, movies are pretty much average to slightly above, enjoyed but forgotten or tossed aside for the next big thing. The perfect movie is rare indeed. When I try to think... Eat your Heart Out: With Fava Beans and Nice Chianti

Fava beans anyone?
"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." - Possibly the most quoted line from Silence of the Lambs. Silence of the Lambs is, in my opinion, one of the greatest movies of all time. The cast, the dialogue, and the plotline make for an intense thriller that will leave you holding... Read full review »
Suddenly I?m craving fava beans
"Silence of the Lambs" was the first movie I ever bought for myself strange the things I remember Some consider "Manhunter" to be the best serial killer movie, but SOTL gets my vote. It's spooky, in a darkness-of-human-nature kind of way, disturbing, and fascinating. I guess you could say... Read full review »
The way a thriller ought to be
Silence of the Lambs will be remembered as one of the best modern day classic horror film. It won many academy awards and critical praise. Ten years later a sequel was released but didn't do too well and got mixed reviews. Two other films have been associated with Silence of the Lambs but so far... Read full review »
The Model by Which Thrillers Are Judged
This film reminds me of what a thriller is supposed to be. The Silence of the Lambs is Jonathan Demme's 1991 Oscar-winning adaptation of the Thomas Harris novel about a female FBI agent whose best hope of tracking a serial killer is to get lessons from another.
For those familiar with...

Slightly Overrated
This movie has become a classic, according to most critics. It is considered one of the best thrillers of the 1990s.
The movie is about Clarice Starling, a FBI agent in training. She is investigating a serial killer called Buffalo Bill, and is sent to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter. He is...

You can still hear the lambs screaming long after this films done!
After the Shining, I was kind of on a horror frenzy. I could not watch enough of them. This film was the climax of my obsession. After it, I've never seen a horror film as good. Saw excused.
The film begins rather unexitingly, where we see Agent Clarice Starling training. Starling is an...

Dull, no action...Overated.
Everyone says that this is one of the best movies of all time. "A gem! This is SOOO scary", is what people say. So when I popped this into my VCR I was looking for a good thrill. But I would have seen more action watching the "are you my daddy" tests on Maury.
Clairese Starling opens this...

"I'm Having An Old Friend For Dinner."
The Silence Of the Lambs is the most recent film to win Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Director, and Screenplay at the Academy Award ceremony. When you watch the film, it's easy to see why. This psychological thriller is based on a novel by Thomas Harris, and is the second time we see Dr. Hannibal... Read full review »
WONDERFUL MOVIE!!!
Silence of the Lambs is one movie I'd recomend anybody to go see. Jodie Foster does a very convincing job as Clarice Starling. She is an FBI agent on a case to hunt the Cereal Killer Buffalo Bill who is known to skin his victims and dump them in various places. she is given tips and advise on the... Read full review »
Odyssey, Illiad, or plain gory horror, it's become a classic.
Ok, let's get some the details out of the way so I can become subjective. Silence of the Lambs is directed by Jonathan Demme, who won the Oscar for his work. He was relatively unknown until this film lifted him to fame. His prior work included several of my personal favorites, including Crazy Mama,... Read full review »
. . . having an old friend for dinner . . .
Despite the definitiveness SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is usually touted with, Jonathan Demme's 1991 award-winner wasn't the first of Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter books to be filmed. Unfortunately, 1986's brilliant MANHUNTER was passed on by audiences, so the success of 1991's SILENCE makes it the film... Read full review »
?I'd like to eat her liver with some fava beans and a bottle of ?Keyhandy?.?
Kids today. With their basement-level expectations for horror movies, they're downright giddy after seeing Red Dragon.
