Why didn't they make these 10 years ago?
I've used the Sony V6 and the newer 7506 for a total of 10 years, since first getting into pro audio. I'd always liked Sennheiser headphones, but they didn't offer anything for the pro. My viewpoint is from an audiophile and live sound reinforcement viewpoint.
Background. I have been doing running sound at churches for 5+ years. I needed a good pair of headphones for monitoring during live recording. The HD-280 Pro fits me just fine.

They suck...
Cannot handle high volume. They distort at anything near very loud levels. Very poor bass response. Unexpectedly bad.
