Little but good

byTodd Apr 4, 2000
9 Helpfuls 10 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Good sound for the bucks, portable
Cons Mid fi sound - not audiophile
Recommended it? Yes

The HD200 is a closed design, circumaural headphone. It is a pretty decent sounding can. It has small cups that fit snuggly over the ear and offers good isolation. Comfort is good. But best of all is the sound. Considering this headphones is under $100 it offers a good value. Bass is a little... Read full review »

Sennheiser HD-270, good overall performance...

bysmille76 Apr 3, 2003
8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Professional feel and look, good sound reproduction, isolation from noises
Cons A little bulky and makes my ears a bit "sweaty" after long use...
Recommended it? Yes

I bought these headphones to be used exclusively on my computer.

You see, I'm a maniac for video games and mp3's, and my PC is in our living room. My girlfriend likes to watch boring sitcoms while I play my games, so i wanted TOTAL isolation from the environmental noises.

These... Read full review »

Sennheiser HD 200 nice headphones.

byTyll Mar 1, 2000
8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Good balance of highs mids and lows.
Cons Low bass. Not for hard rock.
Recommended it? No

A competent and comfy set of cans. Actually sounds better than it's big brother, the HD270. Good balance of lows, mids, and highs. This headphone's musical strengths are probably in the Classical, acoustic, and jazz area. Probably not a good hard rock headphone as bass is not overly strong... Read full review »

Pros Comfy, Cool looking and sounds Good!
Cons Might be too hot if listened for long due to it's closed design
Recommended it? Yes

I was looking for a pair of headphones which were under Aust $150. This pair was listed at $169 (Aust) but the shop owner gave me a discount and i manged to get it at $144. For the same price range, i was recommended a pair of sony headphones that had a closed design but the HD200 did sound better... Read full review »

honk,honk here come the 270's

byTodd Apr 4, 2000

Pros none
Cons poor sound quality
Recommended it? No

Well, all I can say is that Sennheiser makes a great open headphone but when it comes to closed design they have some more figuring to do. The 270 lists at $149 but preforms like a much cheaper headphone. Isolation is good and the comfort is alright but the sound lacks detail and clarity. They... Read full review »

Pros great isolation
Cons bass response a bit boomy
Recommended it? Yes

I work at a recording studio and recently did a "live" gig at a church where isolation from the players was key. The HD 270's worked great and provided accurate, if a little bass-y, reproduction. I have also found them useful in the studio both as a critical listening pair and a great tracking set... Read full review »

Pros No comment.
Cons Uncomfortable.
Recommended it? Yes

In case you haven't noticed, this first paragraph exists to describe the sonic and use performance of the headphones. My mom used to say to me, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Same applies here.

Although more comfortable than the HD 200s, these are full sized,... Read full review »

HD-200's good for DJ mixing

bysamrush May 9, 2001
1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Good shielding from external sound Fair sound quality. Cable is a modular design
Cons The moulding on the jacks is weak and broke easily
Recommended it? Yes

These headphones are pretty good for mixing dance music, which is what they were sold to me for. They hold bass beats fairly well and have good shielding from the ambient sound because they enclose the whole ear. They are lightweight and come with a very long cable (which broke for me because it... Read full review »
