Love these Headphones
Well, after 20+ years with a pair of Yamaha YH-1 headphones, I finally had one of the wires intermittently go south and the left earpiece break off. Loved them, though. Inexpensive Bliss......
I purchased a pair these headphones about 2 weeks ago. (For the purpose of comparison my reference headphones are ESP.9s---30/15kHz +-1.3db no longer made but you can compare at >$1k). One of the best hi-end phones I've heard.
These phones don't have the boomy bass and exaggerated highs of "hi-fi" phones. Good Cans
Purchased new on eBay.
Sound great, very comfortable. Unfortunately I cannot be too specific since I can only compare them with fairly inexpensive Koss and Sony headphones. The Sennheiser 600s are unquestionably much better than anything I have listened to before. No need for A/B testing...

Sound is excellent-none better. Not as comfortable as the HD590, but much better than any Grado. Pretty near a religious experience!
I switched to Sennheiser HD-600s from a pair of Grado SR-125 cans, and I'll tell you this: I am never going back. The excellent comfort alone would be enough to dissuade me from doing so; however, the HD-600s sound much better, too.
