I Saw this on sale at Best Buy on Black Friday 2005 for 30$.

The SanDisk Sansa m230 is just about everything I had hoped it would be. Heaven knows I didn't need an IPOD. I don't know of 6000 songs I would want to download. For a budget MP3 player, the m230 is a great choice. It's half the price of an Ipod shuffle with equivalent memory. The headphones are nice as is the case and armband. Great player for the road!
the 512 meg player is awesome! i bought it for use on my motorcycle going to and from work. i have subjected it to extremes in weather and i haven't exactly 'babied' it.

Good price but bad firmware...no reset command
I have Sansa m230 512 mb mp3 player. The sound quality n all is good but firmware is really bad.
One day (after 4 months) it displayed "FREE 4 MB" since it was full...i did it but the message was the same n then i formatted the player using windows(please never do this). Since then it is not...

Slick little mp3 player!
You can't beat the features, ease of use, and headphone quality for the price. Sears had it for 39.99 after a $7 mail in rebate right before Christmas and it's the best thing I bought all year.
