Samsung Microline ML-1210 Laser Printer

I've always had a home laser, so when my LaserJet 5P started failing I went to the market looking for a good replacement.

I found the HPs to be too expensive and not manufactured as well as they once were. I looked pretty seriously at the Brother line of printers, but just couldn't justify spending the money for the fairly light printing that my family and I do. I had read some good reviews on the Samsung line of printers... Samsung really has been producing some good products lately at good prices, so the ML1210 seemed like it might fit the bill.

Browsing Fry's, I noticed they had a sale on the Samsung ML120 printer along with a $50 rebate (my amount paid reflects this fact). So what the heck, I picked it up.

That was 3 months ago, and I REALLY like this printer. It suits my needs perfectly.

I believe that for a home laser printer, this is a perfect choice. The price is right, the printer is quiet and takes up little desk space, the print quality is great, and it's fast (once it gets rolling).

The only negative I have is that, when you first print, it takes a good 20 seconds or so to warm up and begin printing. When you're printing 10-20 pages, it's no big deal as the rest of the pages just fly out of the printer quickly. The delay is a bit annoying, though, when you're just printing one page.

Overall, I highly recommend this printer for the home user. Don't waste your money on an HP... for light home printing, you can't go wrong with the Samsung.
