Adequate, but with hidden costs

incorrect disc problem
As in many of the other review I have just read, it worked fairly well for over the warranty period but suddenly it takes forever to load and then reads "incorrect disc" which is not included in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

The worst ever
I am a gadget guy. This was the worst product I ever purchased in 35 years. Instead of sticking with Sony I was seduced by the special discount offered by Future Shop. Great...while it lasted
I bought this DVD player 1 year ago, almost to the day. As others have said there are many good things about it. Good player
This is a good inexpensive DVD player. I've found the progressive scan to be ok, but not great. Pretty much what I would expect from this price range. The only think I don't like is that it doesn't play both DVD+R and DVD-R. It only reads DVD-R. Otherwise it's a good cheap player. Read full review »
Less than thrilling
My parents bought me this dvd player for Christmas. I used it a total of four times before it broke suddenly after I'd paused the dvd I was watching to answer my phone. A dvd player should not break after being paused for ten minutes.

Les than 3 months old and broken
I used to be impressed with Toshiba but this DVD player isn't that great. It's okay when it works but now it stopped in the middle of a movie and won't read any disks.
This seems to be a common problem with Toshiba players as well as Cyberhome. I'm going to turn it of for 30 minutes to cool...
