My wife and I are running a B&B since 8 years and we have bought one irons each year. But since we got that Rowenta product it is a dream.
We have a B&B with 5 rooms and my wife is pressing everything.  Every day we have to use it for at least 1 or 2 hours since two years now.
I use... Read full review »

Pros Easy to Use, Quality Construction, No heavy pressing required
Cons takes a while for the steam
Recommended it? Yes

This iron is great for ironing chino pants and dress shirts!  I have a traditional Rowenta iron as well that I use for everyday pressing.  but when it comes time to iron my husband's "business casual" attire I get this iron out.  I can have the wrinkles out of a pair of chinos in 3... Pros lots of steam
Cons boiler hard to fill, no water level indicator, hose gets hot, breaks in 2 months
Recommended it? No

This is my third Rowenta ironing product.  The other two were just regular irons, but they started spitting and leaking after only a couple of years.  One of them after only a few months.  I wanted something that would not do that.  While shopping one day, I started comparing... Read full review »

Pros Steam-presses woolens, presses sheets quickly, avoids the use of dry cleaner.
Cons Costs more than a conventional iron. Bulkier.

Introduction:

This type of pressure steam iron with reservoir has been available in Europe for quite some decades. For one thing, their 220 volt electric power means that water heats four times as fast as with 120 volt (two times the voltage equals the square increase in power, or... Read full review »

Cons Bulky

This is our first steam iron.  We have had it for a month now and wouldn't trade it for 50 of the old conventional irons!  Seriously, this thing is awesome. Heres three reasons why I love the Rowenta 5030:

First and foremost, it get's the wrinkles out which is why we iron our clothes and... Read full review »

Pros Fast, Efficient Iron/Steamer
Cons Pricey

Rowenta has emerged as a major player in the small appliance market. While I have heard dissenting opinions on their products, generally most folks are pleased with their irons and steam generators. I first came upon their steam generators years ago at a home show and was impressed to the extent... Read full review »

Pros Maximum steam on command
Cons You wouldn't use this to iron one shirt, set-up time 5-10 minutes to generate steam.
Recommended it? Yes

I read the reviews of this iron before buying and decided to give it a try.  I've always been frustrated that regular irons, at any price, don't give me enough STEAM.  A few years ago I decided to begin ironing all of our shirts at home instead of sending them to the laundry because they always... Not Bad if You Don't Mind Fumes

byspeak_up Feb 5, 2008

Pros Cheaper than Reliable's model. Adjustable steam pressure. Lots of steam vents on...
Cons Toxic fumes. No cord support or water level. Cannot add water while iron hot.

Rowenta replaced the old--and terrific--580 model with the 5030. The difference? The old one had a stainless-steel boiler and the new one has a PLASTIC boiler. Rowenta saved themselves a few bucks, but the consumer gets a product that: (a) will wear out (heat-stress cracks) much faster, and (b)... Read full review »

Cons Need to press steam button continuously to get water. Not as powerful as I expected.

I visited my brother in France and happened to
use his Delonghi steam and pressure Iron. I have never
seen such powerful iron before. It straightened out my
cotton shirt and skirt effortlessly. It took me only
minutes to finish the job.
I was so impressed and happy with the... Read full review »

Pros Effortless ironing, Reliability, Cuts down on ironing time, LOTS of steam for a long time
Cons Expensive, Can't take water tank cap off while it is hot, No water level indicator

The DG5030 is the newest model in the line of Rowenta steam generators. It replaces the older model numbers DG580/980.

I have never owned a steam generator before, but I always wanted one. They seemed to be a bit too much money to spend on an iron. Not to mention the stigma of owning an... Read full review »
