Retasted for a second time, this wine is dark red with the slightest hint of an orange hue. The nose is reticent, but offers up aromas of dark chocolate and espresso and very rich dark fruit. In the mouth, similarly closed at this stage, with substantial tannins combined with dark fruit of good purity. Previous bottle I thought was a bit more accessible. This one was enjoyable at this stage, but it is clear the wine would benefit from some more age. Still, the potential for a fine Pomerol is clearly there--admirable dark fruit concentration, those typical Merlot signatures of dark chocolate, good tannin structure. A good QPR by Pomerol standards. Should age nicely.
