Pros screen is easy to read, unit fairly easy to use, my daughter loves it
Cons sound quality not horrible, but not impressive either. Oversized earplugs?
Recommended it? Yes

My wife and I made the yearly holiday trek into the cavernous Costco near our home last week, fully prepared to drop a bundle of cash on our kid's presents. Costco is my favorite place for major items, since they usually have the best prices on popular gifts - this year was no exception. And this... Read full review »

Pros DO NOT PURCHASE-Slick & hi-tech, inexpensive, 2.5 GIGS, good sound when settings are...
Cons JUNK--No real cons. A good overall unit at a good price.

UPDATED: Do not purchase this thing. I have gone through 3, all with the same hard drive corruption problem. The original review is below.

(don't be an Ipod Zombie.... this thing holds over 4 times as much music as one of those Ipod shuffle things...)

Ok, this is the product... Read full review »

Great Little Unit

Pros Price, size, FM tuner, battery life, firmware update coming soon.
Cons Lousy earbuds/headphones, scratches easily, terrible voice/FM recording, no playlists.
Recommended it? Yes

The price and feature set of these small players appealed to me. The main thing I wanted was a simple MP3 player for my audio books to listen to on my commute to work. It suffices quite well for that.

The added features of an FM tuner along with FM and voice recording was appealing. The... Read full review »

Pros Price (how can you beat $80), memory capacity, back lit, built-in battery
Cons Sound quality, FM tuner, takes forever to index, screen scratches easily, poor battery...

This is a completely revised review. When I first got my mp3 player I thought it was too good to be true. I was right. My first unit wouldn't charge after a week of use so I had to call up customer support and get a new unit. That one worked fine for a while but now that is starting to go on me... Read full review »

Pros Excellent sound quality, elegant look and feel, easy to use - Highly recommended
Cons Display hard to read in bright light

I purchased the Ipod mini for my wife for Christmas ($249), which is very nice and extremely easy to use. Then we saw the Rave ARC 2.5 at Costco for $159, so she bought it for me.

SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality is excellent, at least as good as the Ipod, and with the bouns, padded... Read full review »

For Christmas, my husband purchased a handful of mp3 players and told me to take my pick. The Rave AMP256 sport was amongst these. I chose that one. When we went to the store to return all the others I saw this one and bought it and brought it home to check it out (online reviews). There were no... Read full review »

Rave MP ARC 2.5 is bad bad bad

Pros nothing, the price in no way makes up for the cons
Cons sound=bad, voice recorder=bad, cannot erase files that start with f
Recommended it? No

This mp3 player is awful I wish I had never gotten it. The sound is awful (and I have tried changing earbuds)it always sounds fuzzy and tinny. The voice recorder is just as bad. But my number one beef with this horrible piece of equipment is that when you sync with your computer, no files staring... Read full review »

Don't bother with this product. I bought 3 for my kids for Christmas and 2 didn't work. Tech support number is disconnected or wrong. E-mail tech support was returned as refused by server. Web site has bad links and you can't get anywhere. Tell your friends!!! Don't waste your money. Read full review »

I'll stick with my CD-MP3 player

Pros Cheap, ID3 tag browsing, shuffle, 20 FM presets, microphone
Cons Slight sound distortion, ailing firmware, FM radio ghosts
Recommended it? No

My first player was the first Rio. Holds about 10 songs, takes about 5 min to change them. I still use it when I go for a long walk.
Next was a CD-MP3 player, and I have a CD case in my car with various collections. About 150 songs, and it takes about 10 min to choose what you want and burn... Read full review »

It can hold many songs, but you cannot group the music into separate playlists

Pros Small size and weight, PlaysForSure, great sound, supports WMA and MP3 files, inexpensive
Cons Software problems - some important features are absent or buggy
Recommended it? No

At my work, I am not allowed to install any software onto my PC. If you need the convenience of plugging in an MP3 player without having to load special software or drivers, go to Microsoft's website www.playsforsure.com, it lists all the devices that can connect to Windows without any extra...
