So, if you haven't heard, recently Blockbuster launched one of the most offensive ads to gamers over that last week or so. In case you haven't seen it, go here (http://www.penny-arcade.com/blockbuster.gif), and find out what Blockbuster thinks of you. Even worse, they tried to defend the ad.

Platforming Perfection: Ratchet & Clank

Pros Lush graphics, great gameplay, and a fun story.
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

As far as gaming genres go, the platformer is about as old school as it gets (really only edged out by the 2D shooter). Gamers have been mastering difficult jumps, smashing enemies, and collecting mushrooms/coins/bolts/orbs etc. since the early days of gaming.

So, in this age of... Read full review »

Pros Keeps you interested with constantly changing the game play!
Cons Looks like a little kid game so many will be deceived!
Recommended it? Yes

Many games keep you interested... at least for a day, a week, sometimes even a month! Ratchet and Clank however, high flying, extreme skateboarding, user friendly super game on the other hand(Heroes for the gaming network) have broken out of the box for entertainment. When your spouse puts their... Read full review »

The Platformer That Did It Right

Pros Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, Plot, and just about anything else
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

There have been many platformers out this year. Jak and Daxter, Jet Set Radio Future, and Sly Cooper to name a few. Many of which I played tend to stress the cliche of collecting hundreds of objects and things, resulting in much backtracking through levels already played before. Things like this... Pros huge levels, good graphics, lots of weapons and gadgets, lots of gameplay time
Cons enemy AI, occasionally some framerate slowdown, but not much else
Recommended it? Yes

Ratchet and Clank is one of the best platform games on the Playstation 2. From the makers of Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank's huge free-roaming levels and great gameplay rank it up with Jak and Daxter as the 3D platform games that are head and shoulders above the rest. It puts a new spin on... Read full review »

Pros continues the story, new weapons, new armor sets, and new villains

INTRO or, HOW I STOPPED HATING MYSELF AND LEARNED TO LOVE THE MUTO-RAY

Ratchet and Clank, the heartwarming tale of a space lemur and his robot buddy and their battle against diversity and duplicity. Okay, it's more a battle against robot dogs and corrupt planet-smashing politicians, but... Read full review »

Pros Great platforming action, incredible graphics, clever humor, fresh platforming ideas,...
Cons Not enough Clank, too few checkpoints, way too hard due to previous

The Intro:
Ratchet & Clank was one of my most anticipated games of 2002. After the stellar debut of Jak & Daxter (which I'll write a review on soon), Ratchet & Clank was on my radar as a semi-sequel to Jak & Daxter. Running on the same engine, with the same kind of history and premise (Naughty... Read full review »

Pros Incredibly original and enjoyable.
Cons Can become frustrating in places.
Recommended it? Yes

GameCube has had its share, XBOX has had one or two, but PS2 seemed to miss out as far as platformers go.
Sure, Jak and Daxter was quite good, but it wasn't something that would blow you away. It wasn't the Mario beater the PS2 needs. Well, Insomniac have set out to put a stop to the PS2s lack... Read full review »
