Rainbow Six for Game Boy
Do you remember when Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six first came out for the PC? I sure do. It introduced the intensity of one-shot kills and team-based gameplay all in a rich 3D environment. Now it is available for Game Boy and the results are, well, not so good.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Rainbow Six is a surprisingly faithful conversion of the popular covert-ops simulator for the PC, PlayStation, and Dreamcast--and that might be its biggest fault. The little Game Boy Color handheld just isn't suited for the detailed planning phase each mission requires, and it doesn't have the horsepower to make the game's enemies challenging at all. All of the missions from the other games are re-created here, as are the screens where you select and outfit your team members. It can take quite some time to meticulously plan the routes you want team members to take during the actual mission, which makes it all the more frustrating once they get stuck before reaching the end of the route. This happens far too often, and most of the time we just ran through the levels with a character we were controlling directly and capped all the terrorists manually. This is made easier than it should be by the fact that enemies are always visible, regardless of the number of walls between them and your team members. Ambushes are ridiculously easy to set up because of this, and the game loses much of tension found in other versions as a result. This isn't a completely terrible conversion of Rainbow Six, but similar games like Metal Gear Solid are much less tedious and a lot more fun. --T. Byrl Baker Pros: A solid story line taken directly from the original version of the game Lots of missions, characters, and action Cons: The ability to see enemies at all times removes much of the tension that makes the original version so great
