QUAD DAMAGE!

Pros its finally here
Cons mmm, single player has no replay value
Recommended it? Yes

Two years in the making, it has been highly anticipated and finally released December 1999, two years after Quake 2. I got it as soon as it came out. It has a completely new 3D engine and far better graphics. It does lack some things though, mainly single player and graphics compatibility. Also it... Read full review »

Quake 3: Gaming in Leaps and Bounds

byDanCallaway Dec 10, 1999

Pros Graphically intense, heart-pounding addictive play
Cons Requires powerful hardware
Recommended it? Yes

Quake 3 is enough to drag a strategy gamer into the world of first-person combat.

In the years since Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and the other first-generation combat games, the genre has undergone a satisfying iteration of makeovers and updates, and Quake 3 is clearly the next step in this... Read full review »

Pros Many characters to choose, stages, weapons.
Cons Not great fun for single player.
Recommended it? Yes

I've been playing Quake for quite some time, especially the 1st.
I really didn't expect much from the 3rd, after playing for very little time the 2nd - I didn't like the fact that it couldn't be played by lan, only online - so I was afraid that the 3rd would be just as bad... Not because of... Read full review »

So it's the PS2's turn to get the world's best-known first-person shooter. But is this a Quake too far?

Is there anyone left that hasn't played Quake III?
After the PC original and the superlative Dreamcast port, it would seem that any freshness the game once had has long since been... Read full review »

Pros Fast, great sound, graphics
Cons Not good if you have a slow connection
Recommended it? Yes

Alas, another game to play against people you never met and to totally annihilate them! Graphics are great and works fine on my 8MB pci video card. The only thing is you might want a faster connection than 28.8K (which I have) which may cause some screen lags. Sounds are intense and the graphics... Read full review »

Pros GREAT SHOOTER
Cons Graphic Requirements
Recommended it? Yes

Quake III is a great first person shooter. The Goal: Kill as many as you can before you are killed. Each incredibly detailed game has a scoreboard where each player or computer controlled bot has a frag count. When you reach the frag limit first, you win. This game has an awsome multiplayer... Pros Graphics
Cons Lack of officially dedicated servers
Recommended it? Yes

Quake III sounded ridiculous at first. I thought, what the heck? a MULTIPLAYER only game??? I know... you need good graphic cards and you need to be ultra fast. This game I love. I love this game because of the graphics, and the fun of it. I just love going around shooting shells at my opponent... Read full review »

Pros Great Deathmatching and Graphics. Good, well-balanced weapons.
Cons That's it. Deathmatch. It gets boring after a while.
Recommended it? Yes

Quake 3 broke my heart. Oh, I so wanted to love this game, I really did, but instead of Carmack's greatest game ever, we're left with what feels like a rehash of the same formula that we've come to love. Now granted, this is still a good formula, and deathmatching is still lots of fun, but it was... Read full review »

Pros Fantastic Graphics/Engine
Cons Horrible AI/Level Design
Recommended it? Yes

When I first saw the screenshots for this game I was amazed. The graphics are superior to most anything I had seen at the time, even the major competition's graphics weren't quite as good. Finally, the game is released, I wasn't lucky enough to play the beta, but this is what I got:

Pros Graphics, Sound, Everything
Cons HAHAHAH

Remember those days when people used to play Doom on a slow 14.4k modem all day, fragging people like 100,000 times before they quit. Well those days are back with alot more stuff. The graphics are superb so be sure to whip out a Voodoo 2 and a fast computer and play some great deathmatch action... Read full review »
