Not flashy, but good bang for the buck
What can I say... it's not fast, it's not small... but, it's also not expensive. If it weren't for the low price of this notebook, I would give it a "ho-hum" rating - but for the price - this thing is pretty stacked - similar models in this price range only give you 256M of RAM, this one has... Hard Drive Crashed
I enjoyed this laptop while it lasted, but within a month of the end of the warranty, the hard drive crashed. I do not use this laptop on a daily basis, and really only a few times per month, so it was not used heavily. I contacted Tech Support, and they offered a new hard drive for over $400... I purchased this laptop after comparing features and prices of a multitude of computers. This one appeared to be the best value for the money with all the features I was looking for, but I am not pleased with the durability of the machine.

Unbelievable Value and Peformance
Bought mine @ Best Buy also for $650.00. Would not buy a P-4 unless it had a M chip and 512 RAM. So therefore would have to cost me over $1200.00 This Compaq comes with minimum pre-installed software. However it comes with restore disk and other programs on CD. I spent months looking for the right computer (specific specs and price), and initally I bought a Dell 5150 for $1050 thinking I found a great deal.
