My version. Loved this game!
My brother and I played these games all the time! The only downside to this and the gold is that there is a little battery embedded on the chipset that goes bad. When this happens, you can no longer have day and night which means you cannot catch certain pokemon. Not a problem if... Read full review »
Is it worth the money?
I have been an avid fan of the pokemon games since I was hooked on Red. The game has since grown in leaps and bounds. The pokedex in silver has grown from 150-250... more or less. The new pokemon, as well as the old have learned new moves, and new evolutions. A key factor in the overall completion... Read full review »
Re-Tooled Pokemon World
Gotta Catch?em All! That?s the battle cry of all
young poke-maniacs, and my son Allen is no different. We
first read about Pokemon Silver and Gold a year before it
was introduced to America. Both my son and I (Yes, I have
been known to pick up the Game Boy and catch a Jigglypuff...

Pokemon Silver( a great game)
Okay! Are all of you Pokemon Fan ready for the ride, Buckle your seat belt and enjoy the ride.
This game in my opinion is one of the greatest game ever made for Gameboy Color. Even if you are not really a big fan of pokemon, but its still worth a try. To tell you the truth I'm not a real...

YOU THOUGHT RED & BLUE RULED, CHECK OUT GOLD & SILVER, THEY SLAY!!!!!!!
I like to play the pokemon games because they give me something to do in my spare time besides read and they are alot of fun. Red and Blue versions were good when they first came out but they didn't have very good effects and the effects they did have were not good enough because they were not... Read full review »
Poker for the Adults, Pokemon for the Kiddies!
I played this game because a friend of mine was doing a Pokemon documentary and I wanted to see if there was anything to appeal to older gamers outside the target market. That was my motivation yet in this review I'll also consider the primary objective: kiddies.
When Pokemon Red & Blue...

Pokemon's last hit for games
The big Pokemon craze started back in 1998 here in America. It started with the television show, then the Red/Blue versions of the video game came out. Those two were hits. Everyone loved them, and after they beat them, they wanted other versions, or parts. Well, about a year after that, came... Read full review »
#1 Pokemon Game
Out of all the pokemon games, I think Silver was the best. I own Red/Blue/Yellow/Silver, and I have seen Gold. Some of the improvements include: graphics (much more colorful), music (there is a radio that enables music change!), many more NEW pokemon, rare pokemon are actually challenging, a little... Earthquake!! Yes. I said Earthquake!! (Slightly modified)
This game is great. I mean, whoever came up with the idea of Pokemon was a dang genius. This is what the Japanese are absolutely great at. I bought this game yesterday, witch was May 3. Now, you may be asking 'What does this guy know'. Well, FYI, I played this game 'till 2 o'clock in the morning... Read full review »
No. You may not try to catch em all before bed!
Image my children's surprise on Christmas morning when they received not only Pokemon Gold but Silver also.... Now "I" know both games are kinda the same but to children they are 2 different creatures.
My 6 year old daughter told me the other night that this was the best game she has ever...

I sort of feel ripped off!!
My son has had the game Pokemon Stadium for awhile now, and I noticed one day that you can't use all the features of the game without a game boy version of pokemon. I found a really good buy (at costco) on a gameboy color that came with the pokemon silver game and a guide book. I bought it thinking... Read full review »
NEW and absoloutley IMPROVED
I was trying so hard to kick my Pokemon habit. I have been a fan since before the whole phenomenon hit the U.S. and became mainstream entertainment.
It was very hard. Seeing as I had a lot of the games for both Game Boy and Nintendo 64, along with stuffed animals, bedsheets, movies, CD's,...

Pokemon Silver Shines
Pokemon Silver is a really great game, and a great buy. It is a little more exciting than Red version. Your able to face brand new trainers, and cool new pokemon. You will be able to do quite bit more in Silver version. For instance, a cell phone and radio. You visit new places since you start off... Read full review »
Best Yet
This game is much better than the original. There are many new pokemon and two different types. There are new places to go and a new way of doing almost everything except the old fighting system.
The game starts 3 years from the older of the two games. You are a completely new person...

Oooo! What's next
This game is fun and may seem like a whole new game, but it's not. You would think that it would be like an up-grade except the pokemon still just make noises. You would think that now they you say the noises and names they use on the show. There are a few new things but there not all very... Read full review »
Move Over Red and Blue and Yellow
My 7 year old daughter received this version from "Santa" this year and cannot put it down. She has the red and yellow version and according to her "this is the best one they made". The new characters are a real hit, since she knows the originals by heart (moves, weaknesses, etc. Now that she is in... Read full review »
Pokemon Silver
Well, to start this, let me just say that I've only owned the game for about a week. I find it to be an excellent example of an RPG. I have yet to try the gold version, but I don't plan on buying it. The game sells in stores at anywhere from $25 to $35. I found Wal-Mart to be the cheapest though... Read full review »
Why I Now Love Pokemon
I truly did my best to avoid Pokemon. After all, as a mom, I know well the dangers of bringing anything Pokemon into the house with a seven-year-old: immediate addiction, and an amazingly huge desire to 'catch them all' - both of which are hard on the pocketbook.
But I surrendered to the...

Not as good as the first (review counts for both Gold + S.
If you've played the red and/or blue versions and are a pokemon freak, chances are, you've been anticipating this. I'm sorry to dissapoint you poke fans, but this is lacking compared to the first ones. First of all, I didn't like the world (where you travel outside of battle) as much as the firsts... Better than the first
Pokemon Silver is a great sequel to Red/Blue. I got this game because I was addicted to the original games. It takes the same concept (catch and fight) and adds much more to it. There are many new gadgets for you to find, pokemon to catch, people to meet, and more. The best addition is 150 or so... Read full review »

Pokemon, Silver Version
Pokemon Gold and Silver is going to be the top-selling game on the Game Boy Color system, regardless of what this review says. Pokemon is not a fad, it's here to stay, and this new Game Boy Color series is only going to fuel the blaze of popularity further.
