Good, you are doing research into the Pioneer Inno before spending anywhere from $130.00 to $350.00 (with accessories) for a specialized product designed for a specialized audience.

Pros Audio quality, storage, choice.
Cons If you don't live in a city direct line of site needed.
Recommended it? Yes

Well, it is 2007 and I finally did it, I purchased satellite radio. I made my purchase on a Sunday (more about that later), based on a full page ad in the New York Times about the Sirius XM merger.

Reasons I haven't purchase Satellite radio until now
1. I don't drive.

Nice Quality XM Radio, But With Trade-Offs

bymartymcleod Feb 26, 2008

Pros A good quality XM radio with some media player functionality.
Cons Limited battery life, and poor memory capacity.
Recommended it? Yes

I've installed & used nearly all Sirius & XM satellite "dockable" units, including the Audiovox Xpress R unit.

Note: I formerly owned an Inno and now own an XPress RC.

General Layout:
The Pioneer Inno is somewhat similiar to the SkyFi 3 in general design: a portable unit... Read full review »

Pros Impressive color screen, and don't need a home/car dock to play.
Cons Expensive still at $350, for hardcore music fans only.

Pioneer XM2go Inno Satellite Radio Receiver

Pioneer's new toy sure has drawn attention, thanks to electronic magazines and the RIAA. It has been called the IPOD killer. I doubt kill is the word. However it's nice, but very expensive toy, for what you get. It needs many more features (car... Read full review »

Pros Recording features. MP3/Radio all in one. Well constructed. Pioneer reliability.
Cons Only 1GB memory. No expansion slots for more memory.
Recommended it? Yes

Everybody has an MP3 player these days! They wear them on armbands, they clip on belts, and some are even built into sunglasses! Simply stated, people love to carry their tunes with them. (This was particularly evident 20 years ago when we all carried the infamous portable cassette players on our... Read full review »

Very Dissappointing

Pros Neat screen display. Small, sturdy feel.
Cons Little or no reception when used as a portable.
Recommended it? No

I have had a roady2 for some time now and have been very
happy with it. XM has some good stations and I wanted so
much to be able to walk around the house and listen to
XM with the radio attached to my belt or in my pocket. If
that is your wish DO NOT get the Inno. If you hook... Read full review »

Pros Small, compact, all in one, xm has great channels
Cons monthly subscription
Recommended it? Yes

I bought my Inno for $220 online which is better than going to a retail store and paying $350. The unit is cool and XM Radio has great stations! At the time, the problem was that the battery drained overnight regardless of whether the unit was turned to the off position. The new firmware that came... Read full review »

No reception.

Pros Works well if it is in the Home Dock, attached to an antenna.
Cons No reception when not docked. Very poor reception in car dock.
Recommended it? No

I've had my Inno for about one week now. I truly feel like XM has stolen $500 ($399 for the Inno, $70 for the car kit, tax). I can not express this strongly enough; no reception, no reception, no reception. I went for a thirty minute walk this morning. I got about five minutes of actual listening... Read full review »

Caveat Emptor with this one!

byzzyzxx Sep 27, 2006

Pros It looks pretty cool, and it's small.
Cons Reliability, battery life, and warranty issues make the Inno a very expensive paperweight.
Recommended it? No

There are some serious problems with this radio:

1) Reliability is terrible. Mine went to a "Scanning Files" screen - PERMANENTLY, after only about 7 weeks of use. It won't do anything, it can't be reset by removing the battery, and the USB port is dead.

2) The battery life is... Read full review »

Does Not Come As Advertised

bytshoe Aug 3, 2006
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? 1 Comment
Pros The ability to record songs is a plus and the graphics are easy to read.
Cons This radio will not hold a signal when its not docked.
Recommended it? No

I replaced a Roady with this unit because of advertisements claiming the unit is portable with MP3. So far, unless docked in car or at home, it does not maintain a signal. When I called Pioneer to ask if there is something I can do to improve the reception, they told me the unit will lose its... Read full review »
