Pros easy to use
Cons slow start-up and cannot play WMV files

It is said that this DVD player has capability to play WMV, AVI, etc. files off of a USB drive. I have 2 DVD players and only purchased the Pioneer for the USB drive and the WMV/AVI player. Unless you read the manual before you purchase this thing, you will not know that it has a number of... Read full review »

We bought this after we got rid of our memorex. The memorex seemed to skip a lot more sometimes it would even freeze up. When we bought this one we played the same dvds that were skipping on the memorex and it didn't skip at all! This is a really good buy! Read full review »

I was looking for a player with the ability to play Xvid files (on CD-R or DVD+R) and this player does it. I also wanted a player that was reliable - I can't verify that yet - We'll have to see how it holds up in a year or two. I've had two other players (Daewoo) that degraded over a period of time... This Pioneer DVD-420V-K Player has been a great DVD player with great picture and sound.  I have owned it for about a year and have had no problems with this.  I purchased it after my previous DVD player fell apart after having it for only six months.  I looked around at the higher end electronic... I bought the Pioneer DV-420V-K (not to be confused with the Pioneer DV-220V-K) as a replacement for a dead CD player connected to my main entertainment center.  The reader may be thinking: What?!

Yes, this full featured DVD player made more sense than simply buying another CD player. ... Read full review »

Panasonic players were... Read full review »
