flashacks to 2003! this machine broke for almost every person who bought one. store clerks told me almost every unit had been returned or attempted to after warranty. I went through three is six months, then they gave me a 975 and that broke too. total junk. Read full review »
Wish there was a class-action for this POS DVDR985
I, too, have had several errors with the Philips DVDR985 unit. Like others, it worked flawlessly during the warranty period. Disc Error - Manufacturing Defect
Philips is fully aware of the problems with the DVDR 985. The write laser has an inherent defect which results in "DISC ERROR".
