I must admit having so many choices with this recent purchase it was an easier decision to make when comparing the
competitive cameras and having a knowledgeable sales person on hand to weed out the weaker ones in the price range I was shopping for. This PANASONIC DMC-L7Z not only... Read full review »

Pros Price, 6x optical stabilized zoom, uses 2 AA batteries, 2.5" LCD, features,...
Cons Slight softening, CA and vignetting in corners of the frame

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 is a 7.2-Megapixel update on the 6-Megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5. Featuring the same powerful 6x optical stabilized zoom, 2.5-inch LCD screen and powered by 2 AA-size batteries, the LZ7 is a good successor to the previous cameras of the LZ series.

A fast shooting full featured pocket camera at a good price

Pros High powered zoom, night time capabilities, video with sound, AAs, feels solid.
Cons LCD Viewfinder is hard to see in bright light.
Recommended it? Yes

My wife and I take LOTS of pictures, occasionally providing images for local publications, so I knew what I wanted in a replacement for my lost Pentax Optio. Research of the latest pocket models around 200 bucks became a real chore, there are so many new models to choose from. Anyways, I narrowed... Read full review »

Good camera

Pros Image stabilization, intelligent ISO, 6-9x zoom, low light, sharp
Cons Color balance
Recommended it? Yes

Cameras have become very complex. The software in these devices is very sophisticated, it tries to handle many things for the user. The downside is that it becomes increasingly hard to describe if a camera is good or not. A camera maybe good at some or many things, but not so great in other... Read full review »

Pros Optical image stabilization 6x optical zoom lens can record 848 x 480 video
Cons Grainy /noisy picture quality no sound movie playback high sens mode is pretty useless
Recommended it? No

The Lumix LZ7 is relatively easy to use with a dial on top to select different modes and the user manual is straight forward, the 'normal picture mode' lets you set exposure compensation and can display a live histogram along with a grid to help compose and take straight pictures, these are very... Pros Huge LCD screen, loaded with features, 6X optical zoom, quality and price.
Cons No manual viewfinder.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought my Panasonic DMC LZ7 a week ago and I'm glad I did. I was originally going to buy a Canon, but after much research online I discovered this camera. I love the big LCD screen and the ease of use. This camera comes loaded with features that most high end (and more expensive)cameras have... Read full review »

No Complaints!

Pros Simplicity, long shutter speed options, battery usage
Cons Simplicity, no manual setting
Recommended it? Yes

I studied photography for a couple years before I decided to buy my own digital camera, and this little number was really good for what I paid. It's pretty simple which is nice for new users, and although it doesn't have some of the fancier settings that I would've liked, it really is a good camera. Read full review »

Pros Excellent features for the cost, when it worked.
Cons Extremely poor durability<br>A little bulkier than I would have liked
Recommended it? No

I owned this camera for 13 months before it stopped working... one month longer than the warranty, unfortunately.  After a period of about 6 weeks that I hadn't used it I found it wouldn't turn on.  I went through several battery options and also the USB/firewire connection and still nothing. ... Extremely Disappointed

Pros picture quality
Cons battery, no viewfinder

I'm extremely disappointed in Panafax. Ok - it's my fault I didn't get a camera with a viewfinder. And I hate it. But I hate their solution on batteries. Either I try to find their Oxyride battery,,,,which I can't find easily...or at all, or I need to use regular AA batteries. They don't recommend... Read full review »

Point-and-Shoot Digital that's worth the money.

Pros Easy to use, takes great pictures, and fast.
Cons No stabilization or face-finding mode.
Recommended it? Yes

No matter what they tell you, no digital camera is perfect. But the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 is pretty close for a point-and-shoot.
The main thing I look for in a camera is
1) a certain price range.
2) a long optical zoom. I don't care about the digital zoom, because that only... Read full review »
