Great value for the price
Great quality video, and audio. Price is certainly right.
Remote could be better. No wi-fi. A bit slow at loading discs.
The Bottom Line:
Great player considering the price and quality. It has a few cons, but not enough to discourage anyone from buying this (unless you absolutely need wifi).
Plays Blu-rays great, as expected. Not much else to say about that. It's comparable with other Blu-ray players. Loading the disc takes time, but this is also a problem with other players.
The remote control is less than user-friendly. Some simpler, straightforward commands would have been nice (there are 4 different buttons for 4 different menus, for example, and none of them are self-evident. Sometimes you just want a simple display of the duration and progress of the film, and you have to root around the menus, whereas our old inferior DVD player had easier and more self-evident commands).
I've connected the HDMI cable directly to the television, with an optical audio cable hooked up to the amplifier. Both the video and audio work great. My television is a Sony 46" full HD, and my amp is an Onkyo. I've bypassed the amp and went straight to TV with the HDMI cable, because I found the amp was reducing the quality of video. This is likely an amp problem, and not caused by the Blu-ray player.
Overall, great player, considering the price.
Note that there is no wi-fi feature. However, this was a selling feature for us, as a hard connection optimises download speeds. Watching Netflix on a hard connection is typically better than downloading via wi-fi. Smoother, quicker, and you get full HD more often than not.
