Tungsten e is amazing
This is my first experience with a handheld, and I can't beleive how useful it is for me. I did a good amount of researching on the internet comparing and contrasting several models before settling on this one. The tungsten e is great for a beginner because of it's ease of use, nice color screen,... Read full review »
Serves Me Well
At the almost 3 year mark of ownership of my Tungsten E I think it time to do a performance review.
I was looking at the different Palm model reviews here and elsewhere and it was interesting to see how some (most) Palm's generate a love hate relationship with their purchasers.

A Fortunate Marriage of Lasting Value and Quality
I acknowledge that I'm a late adapter to technology products. I was introduced to Palm efficiencies in an operations course in business school. However, I waited four years before owning my first PDA. When I adapted, I immediately noticed the streamlined ease of conjoining so many vital daily... Read full review »
Palm
I am definitely not what flylady would call a BO (born organized). Far from it. I was forever missing appointments and tearing apart my desk for yellow stickies before I got my palm. Now things are different! I have all of my contact information in it for both work and personal - no more missed... Read full review »
My third palm!!!
This is my third palm. I wore out my first two but used them for 2 years each so could not complain. The best was the Sony Clie but it is no longer on the market. It used Palm software so it was perfect. The Tungsten E2 is a different story. I have only had it 7 months and it no longer works. Thank... Read full review »
2 1/2 years later, and I still love my Tungsten E!
If I were a poet, I would write a sonnet about my Tungsten E. I can't live without it.
I bought it 2 1/2 years ago because it was cheap, about $199 at the time, before the Tungsten E2 came out. The longer I have it, the more uses I find for it! I won't go into the technical side - there...

4th Palm product, many years Palm loyalist
Last year I traded in my Palm Tungsten E for the LifeDrive, lured by the 4 Gigs of harddrive, WiFi, and Bluetooth and paid a hefty 500 for it. BIG MISTAKE!! I wish I had stayed with my Tungsten E.
Here are all the things wrong with with the LifeDrive:
* It's SLOW on many...

Not bad for the price.
This PDA wasn't too bad for the price. What really makes it a 'good' or 'bad' PDA is what you'll be using it for.
If you plan to play a lot of games or lots of movies, forget it since it has a small dynamic memory heap (2 mb of the 32 mb), and the processor is slow (126mhz TI OMAP).

Fantastic Palm product; can't live without it
I'm not sure why I asked for my Tungsten E as a Christmas present over a year ago. I believed my Handspring, which I had owned earlier, didn't have any useful purpose. However, I can't live without my little trusty Palm. Beyond a great office productivity tool, offering fantastic synchronization... Read full review »
great palm for a great price
If you need a camera on your device, get a Palm Zire 71. If you need Bluetooth connectivity and lots of raw power, get a Tungsten T3. The Zire 21, Tungsten C and Tungsten W are also good choices for those that need PDAs for various purposes. But finally, they have created a PDA for those that need... Read full review »
Quick response, solid PIM, great screen
If you are looking for a simple device that is easy to use and read this is it. I have been Palm user for 10 years and I am mostly interested in the basic functionalities that work well. I like the quick response of the PDA. I can get to my notes and calendar with 1 button push. Although I like the... Read full review »
Sleek and sexy...
I went nuts on ebay and ordered quite a few PDA's. The 1st one to arrive was a Tungsten E (used) that I won for about $70. I was very excited to sync it up and see how it fared against my old Zire 31.
The Zire ran a 200mhz xscale, and the Tungsten sported a 140mhz Arm, so I was prepared...

I thought it would last forever
I've enjoyed my Tungsten E for about three years-- upgraded from an earlier palm (don't remember which one). As far as I'm concerned, I would use this one forever. It has all the features I need-- I'm a pretty low maintenance person. But three times in the last three months, I've opened the desktop... Read full review »
Tungsten E2 is outstanding!
The new Palm Tunsten E2 will not disappoint you. Unlike the previous model, the E2 version has a LONG battery life (I had not charged it for 2 weeks and it was still half charged). The design and ease of use are great, and the big color screen is great for photos etc. The Palm platform is the same,... Read full review »
Great, But low battery
I have had my Palm Tungsten E for 7 months. I use it to keep track of personal information and meetings. I also use it to read E-books. I have checked my battery life and am down to 3 1/4 hours after a full charge. This is not what I consider an adequate amount of time. Other than the battery life,... Read full review »
Dead Tungsten E
After 9 months of loving my Tungsten E, it decided that it just wasn't going to turn on anymore. I visited the Palm troubleshooting website, tried both the soft and hard resets recommended, but nothing worked. Can you believe that they then charged me $25 for tech support just to tell me that I had... Read full review »
Love my Tungsten E!
My Tungsten E was an upgrade to my Palm V and what a world of difference! This unit has been very reliable and is trusted every day. I bought a memory card and loaded a ton of music on to it - the sound isn't i-Pod quality, but works fine. I toss it into my cycling pack and ride miles and miles... Read full review »
Solid value - This updated review includes how to fix this PDA's noise problem
*** Second update ***
The PDA continues to function fine, but there was recently a need to replace the battery. Fortunately, there are several web sites which give instructions on how to replace the battery. I'm quite tech savvy, but still found it a bit of a challenge to solder it, given the...

Dead in minutes
I do not understand how one reviewer writes about "decent battery life." My Tungsten E dies in less than 20 minutes. It allows me to check a few days of my agenda and maybe 3 addresses. When the battery dies, there is no flash memory so the handheld is blank when I charge it up again. Even if I... Read full review »
Great PDA, for the first 6 months...
My husband bought me a Tungsten E for Christmas. I was so excited (it was my first). Unfortunately, by early summer the battery was dying within hours of recharging and actually resetting the Palm, so a "re-load" was required from my PC. Now, due to lack of battery life, I don't use it anymore. I'm... Read full review »
