Olympus E-520 Light Field Camera with 14-42mm lens

The E-520's in-body Mechanical Image Stabilization has three modes for increased versatility. The IS-1 mode adjusts the sensor on both the X and Y-axes to compensate for movement by the photographer, so images stay sharp even at slow shutter speeds. To capture the action of athletes or animals, in-body Mechanical Image Stabilization offers two specialized modes: IS-2 and IS-3. IS-2 is ideal for capturing a racecar flying down the track -- by panning and holding the camera horizontally you can dramatically portray the car’s high speed.

The E520 is Olympus's replacement for the year-old E510, and as such it shares much of the character and personality of the earlier model. It is almost the same size and weight, has the same look and feel, and handles almost exactly the same. In many quarters it is being described as a small... Read full review »

Recommended it? Yes

I bought the E-520 as an upgrade to my E-500. I wanted to try out the Live View and have larger megapixel count. Now after months of usage, the Live View is never used because the Auto Focus is way too slow and eats the batteries up. However, the unit does take great pictures and the LCD screen is...
