Pros 20 characters, colorful graphics, new gameplay elements, loads of multi-player fun
Cons short single-player, only 16 tracks, small and bland battle arenas
Recommended it? Yes

The Mario Kart series is one of Nintendo's most popular franchises. Following the success of Mario Kart for the SNES and Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64, Nintendo promised to release a new installment that would improve upon its predecessors and perhaps even redefine the series completely... Pros Excellent graphics! Lots of characters, some interesting Karts to unlock.
Cons Too much emphasis on the items. Not much of a deviation from previous installments.
Recommended it? Yes

Not since Super Mario Kart's smashing debut in 1993 have they managed to match it. They've had a hell of a time keeping up with the phenomenon they started. Granted, the presence of the initial phenomenon is what makes the two sequels great, but beyond that, there really isn't much. Especially in... Read full review »

Following the string of traditional Nintendo sequels, Mario Kart for the Gamecube has finally released. The Mario Kart series started on the Super Nintendo with Super Mario Kart, then it was revamped and released on the Nintendo 64, and then in 2001 Mario Kart: Super Circuit came out on the Gameboy... Pros Classic fun and great control.
Cons Levels too short, and missing features from the past.
Recommended it? Yes

To the many of you who have been around the gaming block once or twice, think about the obscure genre of kart racing. Nintendo introduced this platform back on the SNES and subsequently the genre has exploded. If you've been involved with gaming since then, you've seen your fair share of kart... Read full review »

Not a Double Dash Past Mario Kart 64, But Still Fun

Pros The ability to change drivers, more battle modes, good multiplayer.
Cons Characters still cheat, can't hop around corners, game requires stuff to be unlocked.
Recommended it? Yes

I had fairly high expectations for Mario Kart: Double Dash and after playing the game quite extensively so far I can say that most of my expectations have been met but not all.

I will admit that my expectations were set pretty high. Although I don't like to brag, I would say that I was... Read full review »

Pros A classic gameplay with new features
Cons Too similar to previous Mario Kart games
Recommended it? Yes

I'm sure most people my age remember playing Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo back in the day. When Super Mario Kart was released in 1991, it featured a revolutionary concept: take a standard arcade racing game, add the ability to pick up items such as shells and mushrooms, and throw in some... Pros fun racing experience, wonderful environments, fast-paced play, gameplay...
Cons surges in AI difficulty, emphasis on items

While on vacation in Virginia Beach, my buddy Juliet picked up the title at a local game shop. I gravitated to it fairly quickly since I had done quite a bit of kart racing on the Super Nintendo title.

As such, Double Dash owes much to its 1993 predecessor on the Super Nintendo gaming... Read full review »

Yes, I know, you all thought I was dead. Well anyway, I've finally gotten around to writing a review for the latest installment of one of my favorite series ever, the Mario Kart series.

In Mario Kart: Double Dash you, surprisingly enough, get to use two characters. Imagine that. Now this... Read full review »
