Pros Fun
Cons Poor Graphics

Fun little handheld game, but it is definitely not cutting edge!  We keep ours in the bathroom for a quick game while, uh, in the bathroom.  I like that you can use games from the original Game Boy in it, too!  It is very easy to use.  My favorite game for it is Tetris. Read full review »

The Gameboy Advance has remained the best handheld for years. The game selection is amazing, the graphics were great, the controls were arranged extraordinarily, and the sound was good!

Pros Wide screen, controls
Cons none

The Gameboy Advance is a great upgrade from the previous Gameboy Color model.  It features a wider screen with new buttons that make it easier to control.  Had built-in speaker with headphone jack.  Runs on two AA batteries.  The Gameboy Advance is a great portable gaming system for a small price. ... Pros -light -small -cheap
Cons -outdated for todays standards
Recommended it? No

The gameboy advance was a very exciting system. I could tell that it was built so that it could be a portable SNES. The number of snes ported games for it concludes my theory. It has a good design and is simple yet powerful. The system is simple and runs on a couple AA batteries. It does not... Read full review »

Pros Can play GBC and GB and GBA games, big screen, good colors and good sound.
Cons Reflective screen, big giant system, screen scratches to easily, NO BACKLIGHT!
Recommended it? Yes

As a gift I was given a GBA and 2 games. (pacman and finding nemo.) The system itself is quite bulky (but not too heavy) and the system has a giant flaw: NO BACKLIGHT!
The GBA has plenty of games for anyone. (for me: Mario. for someone else: Mario. For a Mario hater: Luigi. for a Luigi hater:... Read full review »

Cons Not hi-tech these days, can be tricky getting the screen in the right position

I knew my wife had been after a Nintendo Gameboy Advance for quite a while so I got her one as an anniversary present – and guess what? I can't stop playing the damn thing now…

It's not the newest handheld games machine on the market by any means, but even today it's not too shabby... Read full review »

Pros Great games, good size, backwards compatible, excellent accessories
Cons Not backlit
Recommended it? Yes

Now let me start off saying that yes, there have been many advances in portable technology since I have purchased this but I am still satisfied with my GBA. This console, if you will, has entertained me many an hour and I still come back to it for more. So what if the SP is backlit and more... Read full review »

Made obsolete by the newer consoles with backlights

Pros Durable, kind of portable, button layouts, Nintendo quality, great library of games
Cons need more buttons, screen tooo dark, not enough colors
Recommended it? No

Before I got the Game Boy Advance, the only gaming system I had was the Game Boy Pocket. When the GBA came out, I decided it was time to upgrade. I went over to the closest Wal-Mart Store and picked one up for $99 when it first came out. I'm sure it cost way less now that a GBA SP and a DS have... Read full review »

Now is the perfect time to grab up the GBA and GBAsp's. With the release of the DS these systems are at an all time low in price, but games are still being produced and will continuously be produced until all the kinks are worked out with the DS.
This is my personal favorite for the hand held... Read full review »

4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Bigger screen, two new buttons
Cons Outrageous price, not much has changed, still junky
Recommended it? No

The Game Boy Advance hit the markets with a huge bang. It caused all heads to turn. It was advertised constantly and probably millions went to buy it on the day of release, and that includes me. I was being foolish, as I know now. See, the GBA doesn't really do much for me. The system was then over... Read full review »

Pros can play lots of games
Cons Can't see screen, expensive

I bought this when it first came out and loved it. The games looked and sounded SOOOOOO much better than the Gameboy Color (GBC). But it was really hard to see what was on the screen.
