If you can't afford the F5
If, like me, you can't afford the F5, this is your best bet. And, just to make you feel better, it's smaller and lighter than the F5. An old freind just got better
I have been a NIKON fan for over 30 years. Starting with the original f model [which i still own] right up to the f100. As age has reduced my focusing ability a bit the switch to auto focus became an interesting option.

Excellent choice for an amateur photographer
I purchased the Nikon F100 after I improved greatly in photography. My first SLR camera was a Minolta XTsi with two lenses. They were slow to focus and sometimes I had trouble getting the shots that I wanted. The viewfinder was dark, and the camera operation wasn't as smooth as I had like.
