I just want the thing to WORK!!!
I wish I could give you a real review but I can't even get the thing to install correctly. And tech support takes forever to pick up. This was a great deal off the shelf at BB. We took it home and literally spent a five day week setting it up. This router sucks!!!
I was new to the wireless networking world and made the mistake of buying this piece of crap. From day 1 it would work for about 10 minutes then disconnect. Avoid Netgear
Netgear has made at least 6 attempts at getting this router to work and has failed every time. The one I bought was v5 and to fix known bugs Netgear had a firmware update that had to be downloaded and installed. After the installation the router would not restore its own cfg file. Finally a router that works. Dont waste your time with others.
I tried linksys and d-link it was a horrible experience with both of them ...the setup and then once set up they didnt work properly or decreased my speed. and about 5 hours of tech supports phone calls for each one. Netgear has some problems they need to fix constantly having to reboot
I bought the netgear wireless wgr614 to replace my netgear 11 mbs wireless B router for more speed and the price was good .
I got it hooked up It worked fine for a day and then I started to have problems with it getting hot I have to constantly have to reboot it the speed starts to slow...

Constantly drops Wireless Connection
This router is not recommended. It overheats and drops the wireless connection. My internet speeds go from 150KB/sec - 200KB/sec to 0, 4, 1, 2, KB/sec at least once a minute. Read full review »
Find another router to buy!
Worked just fine for the first few months. Now it goes out every week and blocks all Internet access on both computers. Had to be disconnected and then reconnected every few days but then that stopped working so now it has to be totally rebooted back to factory settings. Support only by email after... Very reliable router
I bought this router after happily owning a MR814 for years. I find it very reliable, with good performance. The initial wizard had trouble getting it started, but once I had dealt with that, everything was fine.
