Pros Attractive, very user-friendly, color/3.5" touchscreen, seems to work quickly
Cons Some routes not ideal, limited locations available
Recommended it? Yes

I don't have a great sense of direction, and coupled with living in a new city and driving to a lot of new places with a new baby in the car, a GPS was a perfect gift for me last year.  I was very pleasantly surprised to get this Navigon 2100 GPS as a gift from my husband.  I had never used a GPS... Navi On a recent drive with a friend I had the opportunity to test out his new Navigon 2100 Max. This navigation system is the big brother of the Navigon 2100 and has more than enough extras to make it the better choice of the two. It has a great look, got us where we needed to go, and best of all,... Read full review »

Pros Tons of high-end feaures: big screen, traffic alerts, text to speech
Cons Slow.  Clunky user interface.  Oh, and slow.
Recommended it? No

I have owned the Navigon 2100 max for about a year now.  As I write this review, I am doing it mindful of similar products on the market, the state of the technology and value (features included for what was paid).  Overall, this is a decent product.  Not great, not bad. ... Read full review »

Navigon may have left North America, but getting your hands on one of these babies cheap is a great idea.

Navi... gone...

My wife wanted a GPS unit for her car; I have a Subaru and my GPS was built in. I went to Radio Shack and looked at various units, but didn't try any of them. This one seemed to have lots of features for less than what other units at the same price point.

Setting it up was relatively easy:... Read full review »

Pros Good value, Text to Speech, Maps
Cons Slow keypad response, Not POIs, Slow to receive reception
Recommended it? Yes

I have owned the Navigon 2100 for over a year now and I have been very pleased with the machine.  Compared to other GPS systems that cost much more, I would have to say the Navigon does not have all of the same features, but for the basic use of finding directions, it does the job well.

Pros Cheap... and you get what you pay for!
Cons Don't know.. it's never worked.
Recommended it? No

I have had a Navigon 2100 for  about 1 1/2 years after my Garamin was stolen. It did not work out of the box. I sent it in for repairs..and it came back with the same problem.... all the screen shows is a icon of a computer hooked to the GPS. If I hook it up (USB cable) nothing happens. By the... Pros Not many.  Free traffic alerts?
Cons Slow interface, noisy, poor search function.  Slow to respond to touch.

After having a Magellin and a Garmin (both old now), I decided to try on with text to voice and traffic.

Overall I find the GUI very poor and frustraiting on this unit.  An example, looking for what restaurants are at the next exit on the highway.  Garmin and Magellin - press button to pull... Read full review »

Pros Easy to Use, Simple Setup, Compact
Cons Bad reception during storms, hard to turn on

I bought this gps before leaving on a California vacation last fall. I noticed out of the box that I had to push the button several times to get it to turn on. Now, after minimal use, it won't turn on at all. When it was working, I really liked the screen graphics and it was easy to use. This was... Read full review »
