The Liberal Media: a Thoroughly Green Magazine
If you want a view on reality that is complementary to what the "Big Media" are feeding you, Mother Jones is a great choice. I was unaware that this leftist publication has been circulating for 29 years. Based in San Francisco and published bimonthly, the magazine offers several in-depth features,... Read full review »
Ummmm....Mother Jones?
Nursery rhyme collector? Nun who worked in Calcutta? Someone we learned about in school?
Each of these "descriptions" is equally inaccurate...In fact, Mother Jones was a liberal activist who worked for women's rights and various other causes during the early part of the twentieth century...

Mojo!
Mother Jones is a great resource for anyone interested in the dealings of companies other than Microsoft and for those people who actually care about the world in which we live. Who Needs Tabloids?
Although I'm amused by the cover headlines in the check-out line, I think it'd be great if the supermarkets had Mother Jones up there along with the Enquirer, the Weekly World News, and all that stuff. Mother Jones has changed it's format over the past several years, but it has remained loyal in covering some of the most interesting national issues. From Gay boyscouts to G. W. Bush's political hand-me-downs, Mother Jones presents a strong, opinionated view of current events.
Personally,...

Muckraking journalism at its best
This country has had a long history of socialist agitators and hell raisers though I didn't learn about any of them in the watered down c**p taught in school. Mother Jones magazine is named after one of the best, most fearless, dedicated, social justice agitators in this country's history. It's... Read full review »
Over the Top?
I've been reading Mother Jones for about 8 years now, and I have seen the magazine go through some editorial and design changes -- not all of them have been good.
On one hand, Mother Jones does expose issues that may get little or no coverage in the mainstream media. For example -- while...

Issues That Hit Home
Mother Jones is a magazine that pulls no punches when it comes to exposing wrongs, furthering human rights, ripping open environmental issues, and presenting REAL news in an unbiased and well researched manner.
Typical stories in MJ deal with such things as Corporate Prisons, workers and...

Now, This is Liberal Media.
Mother Jones doesn't hide its colors - it is liberal. I pick this magazine up three or four times a year at the bookstore; sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't.
Mother Jones is best as an investigative magazine and puts together a great issue every year containing information on the...

An interesting liberal magazine covering current issues well.
This is a very interesting magazine that plays an important role within the U.S. media as a serious magazine covering current issues from a liberal perspective.
