How I install Vista Home Premium Upgrade
I have always recommended doing a clean install and it is no different with Vista. Windows XP Home/Media Center can be used to upgrade to VIsta Basic/Home Premium. But Windows XP Pro can upgrade only to Vista Business/Ultimate. Windows 2K can not... Read full review »

UPDATE 4/5/09: Please note that Windows 7 is expected to release in the fall. Despite the positive review below, at this point, I recommend anyone considering an upgrade to Vista wait for the release of Windows 7. I have used the 7 beta and can say it is worth the wait. Thanks!

Pros -Fast bootup and shutdown.<br>-Cheaper than Windows XP Pro
Cons -Some program need permission(User Account Control) to proceed, but can be disable.
Recommended it? Yes

Windows Xp take shorter time to install compared to Vista but it is worth to wait a bit longer and on Vista you would need to fill in more things compared to XP. That is why it take longer time to install. I had tested both startup and shut down time. Windows XP starts faster a little bit and... Read full review »

Pros Nice Display
Cons Program is faulty, aggravating and too complicated for the average user.

Bought an Acer Aspire desktop with the Windows Vist Home Premium program installed in Feb/08.
Would not accept most of the programs that worked perfectly with the XP program I have on my older Sony Viao desktop, which I still have workable.
Granted the display looks nice but it cannot make up... Read full review »

I am a self-taught old guy who's been messing with computers for about 12 years. I've used Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP, as well as Mac. Windows Vista Home Premium is the WORST operating system I have ever had the misfortune to use...and I'm STUCK with the mailto:#$@&%$% thing! I spend more time... Read full review »

I HATE windows vista!  There are so many bugs with this, you wonder if anyone tested it at all before putting it out.  No thank you.  I'll use my old XP or my Mac over this any day. Read full review »

i decided to get this os installed on my new pc and i really wish i had not.  while some areas are more intuitive than xp, the annoyances far outweigh the benefits.  it took me some time to figure out why my hard disk was thrashing so much and of course it was a default setting in vista... Pros Attempts to improve some XP things
Cons Lack-of-ease, Resource hungry

I have been a Windows user for years. The complaint that I hear everywhere I go now is about how people love Windows XP, especially with all the latest updates. However, most people that I meet are absolutely sick of Windows Vista. After being a Vista user for about one year, I can completely... Read full review »

I don't care what others say about Vista, I love it.  I have 5 computers and all run on it perfectly.  The sleek look and screen design are amazing and I will not be switching to 7 unless I get a new computer. Read full review »
