How I fell in love with this fragrance!!
My sister got a gift certificate to Sephora and with much deliberation, she settled on this fragrance. Everytime she comes to visit, I found myself just drinking the fragrance in. It was really driving me crazy, but since I have about 16 fragrances on my dresser, I really held back as long as I could before making a purchase. A few weeks ago, while visiting my sister, I noticed her 1.7 oz bottle was running pretty low. I told her I would find her a bigger size bottle and a better price. ( I also told her, I would be getting one, too!!) I made it my mission. I had searched websites and comparsion shopped, read review after review on some online stores. Finally I found a website, with great prices. I signed up to receive coupons. lo and behold, Memorial day weekend came, and code showed up in my inbox for 15% off my order. That was the incentive I needed to make my purchase.
Description of bottle
Both the 1.7 oz and the 3.4 oz Eau de Parfume spray come in a faceted glass bottle with the signature "M". The spray cap in in a platinum finished metal. The 3.4 oz spray is is around 4 & half inches high and almost 3 inches wide. The color of the fragrance of is a very light golden brown color.
Description of the fragrance.
Michael by Michael Kors is classified as a flowery, woody and a musky fragrance.
Top notes: Dewy fressia, Incense, & tamarind
Middle notes: Tuberose, blue orris, white wings peony, & arum lily
Bottom notes: Cashmere woods, musk and vetiver.
The creator of this fragrance is Laurent de Guernec. It was the winner of the 29th annual "FIFI award" for fragrance.
My impression on this fragrance
The tuberose definetly is the star of this fragrance. Since I love the smell of tuberose, it must have been that, that really attracted me to it. It is exotic and highly intoxicating. A little goes a long way, so I really try not to apply to much. It tends to last on me even with a light spray. It is quite a long lasting fragrance. If apply in the morning, it is still going strong a few hours later. I still can smell it the next morning.
Also, I find either people love it or hate it. I would say it a medium weight fragrance and good to use in all seasons. Some have said it is a little heavy for the summer. Some suggest it for fall/winter use. Everyone one is different, so if you are interested, I suggest always trying a sample, to see if you like and how it reacts with your body chemistry
Prices:
The prices vary. I have seen this fragrance selling for around $50.00 to $90.00. Which are very big differences. So I suggest shopping around. To save money, I also suggest trying a tester. In this particular case, there is no need to worry about it coming without a cap, since the cap is built in. Testers are cheaper because they come in plain cardboard boxes, and cost less for the manufacturer. Since, the boxes are thrown away anyhow, I was only too happy to pay a little less.
Now, what to do ,with the other fragrances on my dresser...
