Pros Great stealth action, awesome visuals, fun gameplay.
Cons Mediocre story, more movie than game
Recommended it? Yes

I've stuck mainly to my action/adventure and RPGs, but I decided it would be a good time to pick up a few shooters- after all, what's not to love about blowing holes in digital opponents? Included in the games I chose was Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

The Metal Gear (Solid) series... Read full review »

An interesting story, but the execution is a little flawed

Pros Intriguing and surprising plot, Good voice-acting, Fun
Cons Long cutscenes, Unrealistic at times Small problems with controls

Metal Gear Solid: the Twin Snakes is a remake of the older version. The story has remained pretty much the same, and it goes like this:
The fate of the world is threatened once again, by terrorists claiming to have a nuclear warhead this time. They have a list of demands, and if they are not... Read full review »

Solid Snake, a name clearly remembered and praised by fans of the action/stealth genre in gaming is appreciated as much as Mario is to the platforming world, as is Cloud to the RPG genre fans. Many people were awed in 1998 with the approach of a game that redefined the meaning of blockbuster hits... Read full review »

When I heard that they were gonna redo the original Metal Gear Solid (one of the two games that convinced me to get a Playstation) utilizing the game engine of MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and furthermore, in a match-up that must have been mediated by the Dark-Lord and Master (and I don't mean Foamy)... Pros Story at times, new graphics.
Cons Hours of dialog, dated controls, backtracking, same game.

Honestly do we really need another version of Metal Gear Solid?

It's basically the same game (which was released for Playstation)with next generation graphics, using the same engine as Metal Gear Solid 2, such as:

firing a weapon in first person view.

MGS Ultimate? Not Quite.

Pros Graphics, new abilities, sound, still the same old MGS you love
Cons Not designed for the new abilities, overdone action scenes, no extras

The Intro:
As I'm sure a lot of you know, Metal Gear Solid is an untouchable classic. The game that defined stealth action for years to come. And while Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons of Liberty was a great game when it came to gameplay, the story got way too zany to be taken seriously. The... Read full review »

It may have a bow on it, but it's still the same game.

"Metal Gear Solid" was originally released for the Playstation 1 around September 30th, 1998 to raving reviews. Over 1 million copies sold, MGS was considered to be one of the top Playstation games made, rivaled only by Final Fantasy 7. Back then, this game not only had amazing graphics and a... Metal Gear Solid the twin snakes is a carefully remade version of the old Metal Gear Solid. When it first came out it was one of my favorite games ever for the Play Station and I played it from my Freshman year up until I turned 21 and it was unique in the aspects it used stealth over brute force... Pros New cutscenes, amazing graphics, excellent gameplay. Visually....stimulating
Cons If you have played the original, not much is new.

Like any other Metal Gear fan, the thought of Twin Snakes whetted my tactical stealth appetite. Luckily my brother bought it first. The first thing I noticed was the amazing graphics. The characters were not blurry as they were in MGS, and by god, Meryl is cute! The game is visually stimulating,... Read full review »

Pros A very long, engaging, entertaining storyline. Good action.
Cons Over too quickly after the 1st time. Not much incentive to play multiple times.

My library of GameCube games consists of mostly games that are exclusive the the GameCube, so after hearing that Konami and Silicon Knights were remaking this game only for the Cube, I was interested. I had not played either of the Metal Gear Solid games on the PS or the PS2 but I had heard much of... Read full review »

I never had a Playstation, or a PS2. When I heard that Metal Gear -- perhaps the most beloved Playstation game to exist outside of Final Fantasy -- was coming to the Gamecube, I was pretty excited. I would finally get to play this universally lauded game, with updated graphics and play mechanics to... Read full review »

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an excellent blend of stealth and action. The only Metal Gear Solid that I had ever played was Sons of Liberty on the Playstation 2, which I liked a lot. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an exclusive GameCube release that merges the cinematic storyline found in 1999's Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation with the visual style employed in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Overseen by the game's creator Hideo Kojima and produced under the guidance of Shigeru Miyamoto, The Twin Snakes lets players step into the role of government agent Solid Snake as he begins an assignment to wrest control of a nuclear weapons base from a deadly group of terrorists. Rather than being armed to the hilt, Snake must instead infiltrate the compound using little more than a knife, pistol, and pack of cigarettes. Other weapons can be acquired as he progresses. Snake will be able to stick to walls, crawl through air ducts, rappel down walls, and even hide underneath a cardboard box to elude patrolling guards en route to completing his mission. Second-party developer Silicon Knights, whose previous credit was the acclaimed Eternal Darkness, is responsible for bringing the stealth title to G
