Pros Gaining levels makes the game much more addictive, great course design.
Cons Some balancing problems, no random opponents.
Recommended it? Yes

Mario Golf was one of the biggest hits on the GameBoy platform last year. And with full justification, I may add. Mario Golf is nothing spectacular, yet it provides endless fun in its most simple, addictive form.

In this game, you assume a role of a player you can customize. You can... Read full review »

Pros RPG mode, dictionary, lots of courses
Cons You have to unlock most modes yourself
Recommended it? Yes

I own the N64 version of Mario Golf, and for the longest time, figured that I didn't need the Game Boy version of the game. Luckily, my best friend bought it when he purchased a Game Boy, and let me create a character on it while he played some of my games.

Creating a golfer in Mario Golf... Read full review »

Pros On-going development of the players means each new round can be different.
Cons Putting is haaaaaard. More courses would be nice.
Recommended it? Yes

In keeping with my tendency to purchase a new Gameboy game before every flight I take of any length, so it was that I ended up with Mario Golf stuffed into my over-sized handbaggage as I left Rome, fuelled largely by gin-and-tonic, on a flight bound for New York.

And I'm not bored yet; in... Read full review »

Pros Colourful and addictive
Cons Hard to compete in tournaments at first.
Recommended it? Yes

I am ridiculously new to gaming and since I got hold of a Game Boy Color, I have chosen my games very, very carefully. So, what do I have? Pokemon Yellow, Tomb Raider and Mario Golf. I've decided that Tomb Raider was a waste of money, Pokemon is driving me insane (haven't found all of the little... Read full review »

Pros Realistic, FUN, crisp n' colorful graphics, addictive
Cons Sound leaves something to be desired, ADDICTIVE!
Recommended it? Yes

I received Mario Golf as a Christmas present in '99, just before we left for the three and a half hour drive to Mississippi. I am by no means a golf fan. In fact, I'm not really into the whole sports thing. I'll play the occasional game of NFL Blitz and even real football with friends every now and... Read full review »

Pros Feels like the mario golf on ng4 in nearly everyway, except graphics and modes.
Cons mmmmm, I am too dumb, to think of any.

Just recently the video game intrustry has been getting many golf games, Hot shots golf for playstation, Mario Golf for Nintendo 64, and more and more. The best thing about these golf games is that they are fun! Mario golf was released for game boy color late last year, and if you think this game... Read full review »

Pros very addictive
Cons nothing worth mentioning
Recommended it? Yes

Not since the days of Metroid have I seen a GB game that's this addictive. Let's forget about the fact that you can literally spend hundreds of hours playing to find this game's numerous secrets (there are tons according to a code genius friend of mine), let's forget that you only play as Mario... Pros Become a Tiger
Cons RULE THE WOODS

Opening Quote - Tiger in the woods.

Introduction - Golf fans don't drool often, but every now and then something new will get those salivary glands working overtime. What's the newest golf game to inspire a Pavlovian reaction in followers of the sport? It's-a-me, Mario Golf. Loosely based... Read full review »

Pros very replayable, development is fun
Cons not a lot of courses, hard to play in car
Recommended it? Yes

I mean, really. It's on Game Boy Color, which no respecting adult would be caught dead with. It's got Mario, which instantly changes the target audience to the 6-12 year old Pokemaniac market. And it's golf! How interesting can golf be?

You might be surprised. Very surprised, as Game Boy... Read full review »

Pros Wonderful RPG elements, Amazing A/V Package, Transfer Pack Compatibility.
Cons Putting is tricky.

Just when I thought that Mario Golf for the N64 was perfect, along comes it's Game Boy counterpart and proves me wrong! This surprisingly well rounded cart pops up and proves that sometimes in video games, less is more. Although it's only a few bits large (in comparison to games on some of the most...
