Pros Lots of great ideas, no long articles, lots of discounts and contests.
Cons Most items are very expensive and no ideas for heavier gals.

I recently started getting this magazine because I needed some new style ideas and was sick of the Cosmo quizzes and "How to keep your man with a toothpick, hair dye and JELLO" articles. I've been slightly disappointed by it, but not entirely. Here's the rundown:

Pros Up-and-coming fashion trends from head to toe - including handbags and makeup.
Cons No signs of in-depth reading. It's about shopping, so it's pretty much all ads.

Pros Amazing individualistic fashion ideas at all ranges of the monetary spectrum.
Cons Only published once a month... I am addicted to it and need it more often.
Recommended it? Yes

I don't care to hear about women/men/relationship problems, and lucky isolates the art of fashion and shopping allowing the regular consumer to bring the individuality of high fashion into an affordable world for business, leisure, and style. Pros Latest fashions, products arranged by price, can get cheaper version at another store
Cons All about shopping, if you are looking for something deeper, forget it

After purchasing my text books at my college's bookstore, I was given a coupon for a free subscription to Seventeen, YM, Soap Opera Digest, or Lucky. I picked Lucky because I was growing out of the teen magazines and didn't watch soap operas. I figured it was like Cosmo or Marie Claire.

Pros Great shopping tips, trend updates, prices and stores clearly labeled.
Cons Items are sometimes a little expensive.

What I love about Lucky Magazine is that it makes no pretenses. It says it's about shopping, and it is. Nothing more. If you're looking for a magazine with more substance, go elsewhere.
