Horrible performance on WRT54GR
Before I rant, let me first make the observation that epinions has the WRT54G and WRT54GR listed as the same product. They are not. This review is for the WRT54GR. HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE
Well I bought this WRT54GR brand new, got it for my brand new Dell E1705 laptop with a Dell 1500 Wireless Draft N in it (I would of bought an N router from the start but I got this for cheap) and this router is a nightmare. Internet very slow
My internet access is 10-20 times slower with this new router. Luckily I still have my 2 year old WRT54g.
I tried two WRT54GR, they're both useless.

Fine for networking, horrible for internet access
I've bought the wrt54GR to replace my D-link di-524 (which i paid 20$ for comparatively to 100$ for the wrt54gr) My network works fine but my Internet is extremely slow. Fine, but only if your firmware is updated
This router comes in multiple versions, latest is "V5".
(Check model number below the router, next to linksys logo.)
It does what it is supposed to do. But not before
you upgrade the firmware. I used "V5" that came
with firmware 1.00.02.(Yes, fell for the 15$ discount!)...
