They Sound Pretty Darn Good For The Price

Pros Very cheap, fit comfortably, sound pretty good.
Cons Lack some bass, bit tinny, not full sounding, connection is sensitive.
Recommended it? Yes

I recently was given an iPod Shuffle for Christmas. Perfect present! I often go to the gym and it can get quite boring when performing your cardio workouts. I love listening to it with the headphones that are supplied by apple. They really do sound fantastic and give ample amounts of bass. BUT they... Read full review »

Sony MDR-J10 - Good Sound for a good price

byellesboro Nov 3, 2005

Pros Great Price, Good sound, fits well on the ear (once you get used to them)
Cons Durability could be better, and they can get tangled easily
Recommended it? Yes

Whenever you buy an MP3 player, a CD player, or any product that comes with headphones, they are usually of poor quality. In my experience, I expect the worst when listening to included headphones, and the ones that came with my Sony NX80V Clie were no exception. Although they had a decent sound in... Replacement Headphones That Don?t Suck - Sony MDR J10 Blue Over-The-Ear Headphones

Pros Comfortable to wear, selection of colors, under ten dollars, great sound for the price.
Cons Some people might not like the way they fit.
Recommended it? Yes

When it comes to headphones I am pretty tough on them; I use them at the gym, for running and while cleaning around the house. Most of the time the first thing to go is the jack that connects the CD player to the headphones, thankfully most of the MDR's from Sony have an "L" shaped... Read full review »

Pros good ergonomic design
Cons sound terrible. they ruin music and make it unlistenable.
Recommended it? No

I bought these headphones to use while mountain biking with my minidisc player. The last pair I had, a pair of MDR EX71SLs, were eaten by my dog. The EX71s sounded pretty good, very clear, good stereo definition, very bassy, almost too bassy. But they tended to fall out of my ears periodically... Read full review »

Cheap, but poor sound, too...

Pros Cheap
Cons Poor bass - tinny sound
Recommended it? No

This is one of those products of Sony's that I didn't particularly like. Some of the other reviewers on this site gave better ratings for these earphones - it seems that price is their principal consideration. For me, however, the sound coming out of them is very poor, and as such must give it 2... Read full review »

Pros +cost +durability +portability +voice reproduction +quality for the price
Cons -can't sleep in them -tight hats hurt -muddy highs -bass isn't very punchy
Recommended it? Yes

I've used these 'phones for some time now, long enough to go through two pairs when the first pair got the beak-of-death from a parrot. I use mine for portable listening exclusively but for the purpose of this review right now i'm using a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-A900 headphones in a quiet room... Read full review »

Pros stays on ear - most of the time
Cons poor sound, sticky cord
Recommended it? No

I was looking for a replacement for the earbuds that came with my Creative Zen Xtra mp3 player, which had failed.

I wanted good sound, good construction, and something that stayed in my ear when I ran.

When you buy something off the shelf, there's no chance to try them without... Read full review »

Pros inexpensive, durable, stay on while exercising, sound
Cons cord length
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased these as a replacement to the cheap ones that came w/ my RIO MP3 player. I really needed something that I could wear when I worked out. I tried a few different "in the ear" types, but none worked well. I really like these because they stay in place for the most part, they are light, and... Read full review »

A Close Balance Between Pros and Cons, Size is an Issue Here

Pros durable, convenient for exercise, long cord, lot's of volume, open air design
Cons slight discomfort at first, sound quality only fair, one size does NOT fit all Sony!
Recommended it? Yes

Well I bought these after my sister stepped on my old headphones. I saw them in their package and thought they looked interesting, but I really wasn't completely sold on them until I saw the excellent price. They were only ten dollars, so I decided to give them a try. I really have mixed feelings... Read full review »

Pros Great sound, durable, stays in ear.
Cons Can be uncomfortable (at first).
Recommended it? Yes

I go to the gym every day, and it would probably get pretty boring if I didn't listen to music. I started using my Sony cd player at the gym about a year ago with the headphones that came with it. At the beginning of last summer, I decided to buy a new set of headphones for my cd player, and I went... Read full review »
