When one thinks of legendary rock bands, Led Zeppelin has got to be on the short list. Few bands can claim to have the magnitude and longevity of impact they have had on the rock world. Their 1969 self-titled debut album, the band announced itself as a force to be reckoned with, unleashing a... Read full review »

Some would argue that with their debut album, Led Zeppelin began the musical genre which we would come to know as heavy metal. I don't know about that, but the sound of Led Zeppelin is certainly heavy--I know that they created that word.

Led Zeppelin, by Led Zeppelin, was recorded in... Read full review »

A couple months ago when I did my review on Led Zeppelin's awesome How The West Was Won CDs, it sparked an interest in me that I hadn't had in a long time: interest to write some Led Zep related reviews. I thought it would be a wonderful idea to start my Led Zeppelin extravaganza with their best... Read full review »

Led Zeppelin debuted with this record in 1969, changing the face of mainstream music forever. Zeppelin's members were fans of early rock and the blues and it shows in this amazing record. This was my first Zeppelin record and it should be yours too. It has a couple of inspired blues covers... Read full review »

Pros What started it all
Cons I really can't think of any

Led Zeppelin?s first LP, what music collection would be complete without it? The first music released by the greatest band ever, how could this go unwanted? The songs on this record are pretty characteristic of the harder side of the great Zeppelin. Most of the songs were written before the band... Read full review »

A brief note for the reader. As Led Zeppelin is a group I have read about and listened to religiously for about 15 years, you will (depending on your enjoyment of music history) be either subjected or treated to a history of the formation of the group. If you choose to hear simply of my opinion of... Read full review »

So much has been written about Led Zeppelin that writing this review of their first album seems almost unnecessary. After all, what am I going to say that you couldn't possibly already know or read somewhere else? The answer: nothing, but you're reading this anyway. Don't you just hate it when you... Once upon a time…there was a British band called THE YARDBIRDS. In the golden days of 60's Rock N' Roll, three of the most gifted guitarists ever joined their ranks – Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page. And many classic singles followed – For Your Love, Shapes of Things, Still I'm Sad,... Read full review »

I imagine that your eyes have fallen out of their sockets by now. Four out of five stars? How could he? The preposterousness of it! The ill-mindedness of it! The treachery! The insanity! The perfidy! The malignance! (I'll stop reading from my thesaurus now).

I'll get it over with: Babe... Read full review »
