Pros Easy to Use, Fast Brewing, Stylish
Cons Noisy
Recommended it? Yes

This coffee maker is good for people who need alot of coffee in the morning. It brews quickly and is easy to use. It is kind of noisy and the steam kicks out a bit, but it does brew fast.

If you are in a big family and everyone likes coffee, this is a great machine! Read full review »

I have had several coffee makers over the years and Krups has been the most reliable.  The FMF5 is a good, basic coffee makers and it brews and excellent cup of coffee.  The stainless steel cafe keeps the coffee warm for at least an hour.  The programming function is great for... This Krups coffee maker was a gift because I have always wanted a coffee maker with the stainless steel carafe so I could keep the coffee hot for several hours without "burning" it; as would happen if one keeps coffee in a normal glass carafe on a heated burner much longer than a half hour or... Krups FMF5 10-Cup Coffee Maker

bylsmyth Apr 16, 2009

Pros Nice stainless steel look. Krups replaced the carafe when we asked.
Cons Cold coffee - I have to microwave each cup I pour!
Recommended it? No

I'm not happy at all with this coffee maker.  Coffee is cold after about 10 minutes in the carafe.  Carafe leaked plain water that was caught between out-side and in-side of the carafe.  This will be the last Krups that I buy. Read full review »

The Worst Coffee Maker Ever!

Cons Impossible to read the water level, hard to pour and coffee is not hot!
Recommended it? No

My in-laws own a different model of Krups and it's been serving them no problem, so I have decided to buy Krups as well. However, this is the nightmare of coffee makers! It is impossible to read the level of water due to air bubble, it is very hard to pour coffee from the carafe, the carafe is... Read full review »

Cons Not hot enough, pours poorly, level indicator bubbles up, hard to clean inside carafe

Looking for a coffee maker with a thermal carafe (to do away with scorched coffee & carafes) and a timer, and having been pleased with the performance and functionality of Krups coffee/espresso combo unit that we had owned for 10+ years, the Krups FMF5 was selected.

This model is by far... Read full review »

Cons Dated LED. Hotplate used.

After my Starbucks Barista Coffee Maker dispensed its brew all over the counter for the third time I decided it was time for a new coffee maker. There were three things the Barista had, which my new coffee maker had to have as well:
1. Thermal carafe
2. Brew timer
3. Counter top... Read full review »

Pros Sounds good on paper, looks good
Cons Fails at the basics you would take for granted- rebate denied
Recommended it? No

I had Krups coffee maker that lasted 18 years or so, and I was very happy with it right up until the end. So naturally when it needed to be replaced, I immediately figured I'd buy another Krups.

Boy am I disappointed! Compared to the old one, the water gauge is very hard to read. The old... Read full review »

Poorly made and designed--air bubble prevents accurate reading of water

bylazydan Feb 9, 2008
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Looks great--stylish stainless lines
Cons Worst working coffee maker I've ever owned. Poorly designed and executed
Recommended it? No

I had to return the product three times to get one that didn't leak. When pouring water into the machine air bubbles appear that make it impossible to measure the amount of water in the machine using the gauge. The carafe doesn't empty easily and spills from top when serving. I've had Krups... Read full review »

Krups Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

bysusanqlt247 Sep 19, 2007

Pros Good coffee that stays hot
Cons Programmable features require booklet to be kept handy and auto timer quit working
Recommended it? No

This coffee maker makes very good coffee that does stay hot for a good length of time in its thermal carafe. But the programming requires you keep the booklet handy at all times. Also, the auto-on feature does not work any longer. I now have to push both the On button and then the Program button to... Read full review »

Disappointed With Krups

My wife and I have been drinking German Coffee ever since I was stationed there with the US Army. It has a rich, strong coffee flavor that we enjoy.

Up until now, we've always used a Krups thermal carafe coffee maker to make and preserve the flavor of that high-priced grind. A German made... Read full review »

This is one fine Coffeemaker

Pros Water filter, Never overflows, quiet brew.
Cons How do you turn that alarm off?
Recommended it? Yes

I use thermal carafe coffeemakers because my sister-in-law has a habit of smashing the glass carafes in the sink. Purely by accident, she assures me but, she never does the dishes either. Go figure.

I am also a big believer in using activated charcoal filters to clean the water before... Read full review »

Frustrating. HATE this model of Krups.

Pros Looks nice
Cons Difficult to measure water due to air bubble in gauge
Recommended it? No

Very disappointed in this Krups. This is badly constructed given the price. There is an air bubble in the water gauge. So it is very difficult to measure the water correctly. This has been a problem since the beginning and we've tried many times to overcome it. Now we measure the water before... Read full review »

Great Coffee Maker

Pros Clean and simple, yet with all the high end features. No drips ever!
Cons A larger reservoir would be nice.
Recommended it? Yes

I am baffled by the other bad reviews on this coffee maker. I think its great! Clean, simple, easy to use, and great coffee. My biggest complaint(s) about coffee makers is two fold: Do they drip when you pour and how complicated are they. (I am a forgetful and messy klutz). This coffee maker knocks... Read full review »

Pros Thermal jug is good for holding coffee hot for hours
Cons Can not measure water accurately, it a guessing game

The most frustrating coffee machine. Can not get an accurate measured cup due to air bubble in the indicator and the water vessel does not have any cups lines. We count to ten to make 6 cups. Definitely trading up! Read full review »

Pros Makes great coffee, keeps coffee hot, and looks great!
Cons Hard to program/set time/auto settings & alarm on/off. Alarm is really loud and high...
Recommended it? Yes

This coffee maker is attractive and keeps coffee hot for a long time. It has auto shut off, which is a nice feature for busy people. Because of the carafe, you can keep your coffee hot long after it auto shuts off.

I've owned mine now for over 6 months, and the most disappointing thing is... Read full review »

This is the worst coffee pot I've ever owned

bymsemmie Jan 3, 2007
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros None - there is nothing I like about this pot.
Cons flavor feature doesn't work, can't fill it properly, can't pour from it
Recommended it? No

This is the worst coffee pot I've ever owned AND the most expensive. We've had it over a year now and to get a decent cup of coffee you have to double the amount of grinds. You can't pour from it because it has no real spout and the top is sometimes extremely difficult to unscrew. Since I paid so... Read full review »

Pros Simple to use, lasts for years, and it's cheap.
Cons Doesn't brew coffee super hot.

The Braun Aromaster is about as good as it gets in auto-drip coffee makers. It is the Sherman tank of coffee makers. For around $20 you get a basic unit with a manual on/off switch, swing-out basket, and the only carafe I have ever come across that doesn't slop coffee all over the place when... Read full review »
