Works well, but may need refinement
I bought the EasyShare 5500 for home and home office use. I needed the auto-duplexer and fax features and was frankly tired of paying $60 for ink on my old HP every few months. Maybe the Best thing Kodak has ever done
Its new.. 5 days now.. I am amazed at the quality of the prints.. better than the photo store ? I think so.. and permanent.. some new Technology ?
Best thing after all the great quality.. The cost of real ink.. not a dye.. is about half the cost of the HP ink robber barons..

Don't Buy If You Will Use This For Scanning
I bought the printer in February because of the lure of cheap ink since I was sick of paying through the nose for ink cartridges. KODAK 5500 Printer is HORRIBLE!
I have owned this printer for one year. It is the WORST printer I have ever owned. The print head has already been replaced.
I print my photos using Epson Photomate Deluxe! It greatly outperforms the KODAK print.

A Good Printer...When It Works

Not all that I was expecting
This is a unit that is supposed to print, scan, copy and fax. I don't have a land line, so faxing is out, but for the rest of them:
Printing-this isn't as fast as I was lead to believe. I don't use it more than 1-2 times a week, so I think the print heads dry out or get plugged, so cleaning...
