Pros Flat-sounding frequency response up to the lower mid-bass, small size, 5 speakers in the...
Cons Lower mid-bass rolls off due to smaller "woofer" drivers
Recommended it? Yes

As some of my fellow readers know, I've been using a stereo desktop speaker set (though a good one - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1) for my modest home theater system. Basically it consists of a PC running Vista Media Center and a modest sized LCD HDTV. My friend also have a TV the same size as mine, but... Read full review »

Room filling movie sound and a small Footprint

Pros Great for movies, take up very little space, come with a stand
Cons Definitely need to be paired with a powered subwoofer, not the best for music
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the Synergy quintet system for my bedroom and matched it with a Pioneer VSX-514 that puts out 100 watts per channel and am very happy with my setup.

The satellites are barely larger than a 16 oz bottle of water and fit easily on a nightstand and still leave plenty of real... Read full review »

my brother who works in audio retailing company introduced me to this great speakers. After several demos and weeks of constant reviews (via internet and other stores carrying klipsch)I finally decided to get one. I paired it with NAD T742 and it was a great combination. Pros Crisp, wonderful sound. Very distinct spatial separation. Good highs, excellent mids.
Cons 4 of my 5 speakers are white (the center is black??). Oh well...
Recommended it? Yes

There really isn't much more to say about these. I just bought the Quintet 2 set in white (I'd prefer black, but for $199 Canadian, I'll take white :) and they are phenomenal. I'm using a high-current Yamaha amp with only 60w RMS per channel and they are astounding. I was previously using a 5... Read full review »

Very good computer gaming speakers

byfooviusfoo Aug 21, 2004

Pros Good sound, nice looking package; small speakers. Great for a small room.
Cons Poor support for auxiliary inputs; no hardware control over bass/treble.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought these speakers for use with a computer gaming system and I've been very pleased with their sound--in fact, so pleased that I got rid of the stereo system in my office and now use these speakers for all of my audio. The drawback--if you consider it one--is that I end up using my PC for all... Read full review »

Quintets are great but one blew already

bytripsplusone Mar 20, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros clarity and volume
Cons 1 speaker blew within a month.
Recommended it? Yes

I love the clear, crisp sound, but one speaker blew already on 100 Watt output from my Yamaha 1400 receiver (Note-be careful of cranking Paul McCartney's live 'America' DVD too loud during 'Live & Let Die'). My local retailer took good care of fixing it. Read full review »

Pros Accurate, Well Balanced, with a Quality feel. Worth every penny.
Cons Designed for home theater more than pure audio
Recommended it? Yes

After researching, and listening to high end, low end, and everything in between from Polk, Infinity, Bose, etc., I chose the Klipsch Quintet for my surrounds. I am still amazed this system only cost $400! What a great set of speakers! The highs are crisp without being tinny, the dialogue is clear... Read full review »

Outstanding Audio Performance

Pros Can handle decent wattage.
Cons not quite as good as a MTX 15' home system.
Recommended it? Yes

These speakers are capable of loud CLEAR highs, even while cranked up to 400 watts (200 on highs, and 200 on the base). The base speakers also responded well at full wattage.
