Baby Einstein Bendy Ball

Pros Great for stimulation, sounds, and colorful
Cons Nothing
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  It may be a simple toy but our son loves it!
I think Baby Einstein toys are really cute.  We have quite a few of them.  It's been a while since I bought the Baby Einstein Bendy Ball but I'm pretty sure I found it at Target for around $5 to $6.

Baby Einstein Bendy Ball

It measures approximately 5 inches wide and 5 inches tall.  I did the best I can as it is kind of hard to measure a ball.  One side of the ball is orange while the other half is blue.  Around the middle of the ball is a plastic yellow band with a colorful caterpillar on it.  The caterpillar features the colors green, blue, orange, purple, and blue with a yellow face and a very cute smile.

Inside the ball is a green and orange ball that moves freely inside and it also makes a rattling sound when it's shaken around.  My mom saw it one day and asked me why we bought our son a giant cat toy.  She was joking of course but in a way, it does kind of look like a giant cat toy.  It's very durable too and the ball does not come apart so there are no worries about losing the ball inside or having a frustrated baby because he can't get it back together.

My Thoughts

It wasn't until our little guy was about 6 months old when he really started playing with it.  At that age he could pick it up and shake it about and he loved it.  After he started sitting a few weeks later, he really got a kick out of it when we would roll it to him.  He wouldn't roll it back then but he would pick it up and then drop it waiting for someone to get it to roll it again.

At about 9 months old, he was rolling it himself.  I'm not really sure why it's called a Bendy Ball exactly.  It doesn't bend much but the two sides of the ball are soft and can be squished and pushed in.  The holes in the ball are great because it makes it perfect for little hands to pick up.  Our little guy is also very curious and loves to try to get at the ball inside because he can see it.  It has a little weight to it but it really isn't that heavy.

I think it's great for stimulation and also great for hand eye coordination when it comes to rolling the ball and eventually even throwing it.  At almost a year old, he can throw pretty well now!  I'm not sure exactly what the age recommendations are but I think it's great for babies 6 months and older.  It may be a simple toy that looks like a giant cat toy but he likes it and has a lot of fun with it!
