When I was still pregnant but almost due my mom went with me to Babies R Us and we were looking at items I still needed from my registry that I hadn't received. When we were in the utensil aisle she saw the Kidco Food Mill and said it wasn't on my registry but that I definitely needed it and that... Read full review »

Pros Makes great baby food, inexpensive, easy to use & clean
Cons Only makes one texture of food
Recommended it? Yes

My 9 month old is about the laziest eater you could meet. She couldn't be bothered with eating and would just nurse if I would let her. After weeks of trying, at about 7 months she finally started eating cereal and jarred baby food. So long as it was mushy she would eat it, and eat a lot of it... Read full review »

Pros Grinds foods to a nice consistency.
Cons Difficult to figure out initially.

My daughter and son-in-law decided they wanted to make their own baby food, so when they saw this grinder they picked it up. The price was right at right around $5. My daughter was complaining that she didn't know how to use it, so I told them to bring it the next time they visited and we would... Read full review »

We received this when I was only 5 months pregnant. My mom bought it for us because it was the same one she has used for my brothers and I 25 years ago. When she gave it to me, I really didn't think we would use it that often...boy was I wrong!

From the time my son graduated from rice... Read full review »

Pros Can grind nearly any kind of food, Easy assembly, Can buy replacement parts.
Cons Not big enough to easily make large quantities of food, meats are tricky to grind.
Recommended it? Yes

I knew before I was even pregnant that I wanted to make my own baby food. Now don't get confused, I'm not the type to buy organic, or walk around in sandals and hemp jewelry. To be honest, I'm just cheap. Making my own baby food was much more cost effective in my opinion. No paying 50 cents plus... Read full review »

Pros Inexpensive, does what it says, much better than hauling baby foods around.
Cons Eventually wears out, sometimes hard to turn handle.
Recommended it? Yes

My baby had severe food aversions and is also allergic to milk protein. From six to twelve months, he actually lost weight and didn't grow in height. He was a nine pounder at birth and at 12 months was falling off the growth charts. He would never eat regular baby food and still won't. "Normal"... Read full review »

Pros Easy to use, inexpensive, very convenient
Cons Doesn't grind a lot at once, cumbersome to store

When our son started eating solid foods, I attempted to make many of them. I cooked large batches of vegetables and then pureed them in our blender. It was a cumbersome process that was especially inconvenient because our son was terrified of the loud noise our blender made.

I finally... Read full review »
