An OK basic grinder
In the quest for a good cup of coffee, bean freshness is one of the top requirements. That being the case, it is imperative that freshly-roasted whole beans be purchased and ground before use. Ground coffee typically stales within hours, so "fresh" and "pre-ground" are oxymoronic.
Most...

Love it, glad I bought this grinder
I bought this coffee grinder despite some tepid reviews here, and I'm very glad I did. It is positioned as an entry level burr grinder, and as an entry level coffee fanatic (I just started roasting my own green beans within the last year) it is perfect for me. It grinds quickly and aeromatically,... Read full review »
Looks nice until you use it
This grinder looks great on paper. It has an adjustable grind size suitable for grinding beans for French press and espresso coffee, and anything in between. The beans go into a air-tight container on the top so you can store them in the grinder indefinitely, and just grind your coffee right before... Read full review »
Reliable and Messy!
I graduated to this grinder from several of the blade-type units. Each type has its advantages but these are the main advantages of this type:
1) you can set the timer to grind the exact amount you need for your pot.
2) you can store extra beans in the hopper, saving going for coffee...

At least it's cheap?
Ok. So It's better than a blade grinder. A little better.
Having blade ground my coffee for years with my inexpensive Krups one-touch, I finally gave in to the bean purist and decided to evolve myself up to a 'real' grinder. WOW! These things are EXPENSIVE. $100+ for a decent burr...

Braun Cafe Select Coffee Grinder, Model KMM 30
I wanted a coffee bean grinder to use with my new coffee maker, and since the Braun KMM 30 was available at the same store, I purchased it at the same time. This is not a new product, having reviews that go back to 1999, but that says something to me about its value, since the same model is still... Read full review »
Great Coffee, but tough cleaning
Well, I watched enough of the Food Network to realize I, as a consumer of 14 cups each morning, couldn't continue what they call the "horror" of using pre-ground coffee.
So, I looked around for the best type of grinders, and one that could keep up with the amounts my body craves every grumpy...

If you don't mind the clean-up...
We found this coffee mill on clearance at Target for $28.
I read the opinions here and figured, "there's always going to be some mess just because you're grinding."
Yes, some mess, but I didn't plan on this kind of mess; the grounds go everywhere.
I live in a dry climate, so I am not...

Disappointingly messy!
If you use heavily roasted coffee, with a lot of surface oil (expresso and french roast), here's three important things that you should take into account before buying this grinder. These defects add up to a perpetual mess of escaped grounds on your counter:
(1) The burr's grinding...

Makes a woman happy and doesn't require batteries!
Who says you can't buy happiness? Just the smell of fresh ground coffee makes me happy! I bought my beloved Braun coffee grinder last year at Sam's Club for $14.97, mainly because the price was right and it came with a free pound of coffee. Well, it has changed the way we drink coffee at my house... Read full review »
