Deere Caught in the Headlights!
I purchased a mower similar to this. The JX85 is the replacement. I spent allot of money to get a quality first rate lawn mower. Quality??? Not the greatest
This mower cuts well. Starts first pull almost every time. Has plenty of horsepower to cut my Floratam grass. Only problems, had to replace the gas tank after one year. Not a real John Deere
I've owned mine for three years now. The only problem I've had with it, the caster wheels. Had to have them replaced after they bent. The replacements where re-enforced. You would think they would have replaced them free knowing it had a defective part

Poor Quality Transmission
I always wanted a John Deere, I bought a JS63C about
2 years ago. Had to replace Tranny after 1st yr. Wheels
wobble, bushings are wearing out inside of wheels. Rear
Pinions had to be replaced also. Should have bought a Toro.

Green Monster
Horrible experience with this mower. Problems starting right off the bat. Primer bulb started leaking gas out when pushed, this within 2 months. Drive sheath pin where pulley sits failed right after warranty was out. Way to expensive to fix, I will buy another mower, and it won't be a John Deere... Read full review »
Awful!
This mower has been nothing but problems since I got it 3 years ago. It had a weld spot for one of the engage levers snap, needed replacement for a drive belt that broke which caused the cable wire & spring for the self propulsion to break. Five Year Experience Report
I have had mine for 5 years, and I use mine quite a bit because I have a thick lawn. I like having the blade brake clutch, because I have small children and am always getting distracted while I mow and have to stop and start without shutting off the engine.

Nothing runs on this deere
The mower does a nice job of mulching and bagging but it should for the price I paid. The cable that adjust the transmission speed has broken every year I had it.
