well worth it
I bought this amp new in 2004 to push to 12" Kicker Solobaric L7s. It did that and more! It's now 2007 and I still have the amp and subs kicking tons of bass in my car. I am about to sell it all though only because I bought a new house and can use the extra $$ somewhere else.

Lots of Power
JL power. Great amp. I have this powering a 12W6V2 in a sealed custom enclosure. This amp does what an amp should. Reproduces the signal it receives & stays out of the way. Went from a 250/1 to this. BAM! this thing is made for bass
If you want to make some 12's shake and quake, then buy this amp! It is expensive. However, for a 500 watt amp you can not beat this thing. Absolute power from a good name brand. Now I am an Orion man, Lord knows you can not beat those amps, but this one is tight! I recommend it. Read full review »

Not worth the money - JL 500/1
I had two 500/1 amps powering two 15W3-D2 subs. O.K. but had a tendancy to slap the backplate on the subs. Did not control the speaker at high volumes. GREAT SQ SUB AMP!
This amp was awesome! But I had to upgrade from it to a more powerful amp.
I used a single JL Audio 10w7 sum and this amp was great... but not quite enough for me!
Then again I want to hit 151bd too!
