Pros Excellent video quality, easy to use, very handy, very good features.
Cons Flash photography is of poor quality; LCD screen and Zoom could be enhanced.
Recommended it? Yes

Extraordinary video quality for such a little camera. Clear crisp vibrant colors. Nice features, very easy to use. Mini DV and SD memory card combo works real well.

Picks up audio very well even from a considerable distance.

Purchased a JVC GR-X5 from B&H Photo a week ago, in preparation for the birth of our new baby. When received, my copy appears to have a Canadian warranty, not a US warranty. Am not happy about it, and am going to follow up with B&H, and see if I missed something.

The GR-X5 is indeed different from most cameras I have seen. The first impressions are that the camera appears more square shaped and feels different from other cameras of a similar type.
