Excellent DVD VHS recorder with digital tuner
The switch from ananlog to digital & HD TV channels sent me searching for ne ways to record favorite shows. Both my LG 787 and samsung AR650 do a nice job but limit me to maximum of 6hrs on 1 blank DVD.

Reliable replacement for a VCR
Compared to Panasonic's DMR-EZ line (and some hard-drive or TIVO-like machines), the JVC machine is very simple: there's no access to the menu system while recording, no trailing viewing (watching the recorded part of program while it's still recording), no watching one drive while the other drive...
