Pros not a bad chip, cheap motherboards
Cons expensive, lower performance
Recommended it? No

How anyone can buy an Intel Pentium III I really do not know. They have been humiliated in every benchmark by the AMD Athlon and eventhough im not an AMD user I can still see that the PIII gets thrashed in every area. I dont use AMD because I feel that I get better value with my Cyrix chips but... Read full review »

I am an avid Intel user. They have never let me down in the past, and I have built over 100 Intel machines. This may not seam like a lot to a huge manufacture, but I work on these in my spare time. I purchased my first Intel PIII processor late last year. I picked up 3 PIII 500?s. They are still... Read full review »

Pros some can address 133mhz bus, name-brand comfort
Cons expensive, less bang for your buck than an AMD chip, have to be careful which one you pick
Recommended it? No

I've been an avid computer user since I was about twelve; I would bask in the green glow of my Apple II for hours; I devoured the DOS 3.2 handbook when I got my 286. Computers seemed easy back then; you picked IBM, Tandy, or a Mac and that was that. Things are so much different today; now the... Read full review »

Pros none outweigh the negative
Cons Tracking chip in processor
Recommended it? No

The Intel Pentium 3 chip is not a product anyone should buy. Intel has went too far in their latest processor. They have decided it would be a good idea if they were to put a tracking number on every chip they sell. Think of it like a social security number liking you to your computer. What?s the... The Pentium III chip is the last "update" of Intel's P6 core that began with the Pentium I chip. There are a couple of different versions of the Pentium III chip out on the market today. The older chips have the Katmai core. They have 512K of cache on the chip. The more recent Pentium III chips... Read full review »

I have only had my computer for just a little over a year. It came with PentiumII installed. It worked great at first but after I started using the internet, things went wrong.
