Motor failed
I purchased this humidifier during the winter of 2002. It ran well during the winter season. I just brought it out of storage for use this year and the humidifier will not run at all. Humidistat controls appear to be in working order; humidity is displayed as well as target settings but the fan... Read full review »
Fan noise - returned before it broke
First impressions: light weight, perhaps a bit flimsy. Noisier than I expected based on reviews I had read. It worked great for about two weeks. Then the fan or motor began to make noise. I promptly returned it for a refund.
Ordered this product online from drugstore.com. Very happy with...

Believe it--the fan won't last!
I have owned 2 of these humidifiers. The first fan motor failed 2 weeks into the second season. I stupidly bought another and it lasted all of five weeks. It's a shame because this could be a very nice product. Odd that it is the fan motor that fails--it is Hunter Fan Company, after all. Well, I'm... Read full review »
Nice concept humidifier..
I have owned this humidifier for over a year. It does a lot of things really well and have only a few complaints about this humidifier. First of all, let's talk about speeds. Another important point for me was that it has... Read full review »
It's Not The Fan Motor!
I used this model last winter with no problems. Then, when I turned it on the first time this season the motor won't turn the fan.Closer inspection reveals the real problem with these units. The motor also turns a small plastic vein pump in the bottom of the housing(this is what makes the design work)... Mistake
Had multiple reliability problems.
Cleaning the aluminum filter produces a strong sulphuric smell.
As any unheated unit will, it makes the room cold, which is a problem in winter.
Using Original Bt Humidifier Bacteriostatic Treatment is a big help.

PIECE OF JUNK - motors burn out repeatedly
We purchased two of these 3.5 gallon units three years ago. We use them winter only to combat the dryness in the desert. They lasted one and a half seasons. Motors stalled and burned out. We contacted Hunter and had to wait FIVE MONTHS because this very model was being recalled in its entirety... Read full review »
